My Switch-a-roo

I had ordered a BASE MG 328 with a manual.

They almost ordered me the wrong car.

By the time that was squared away my car got caught in the factory shut down.

So although I ordered on 7/28, my car was yet to start production.

At the same time, a friend from my Saab board and coincidentally here, had ordered an Estoril Blue II M Sport optioned to my liking 8 weeks ago. This car is one of the ones with the BT F-up.

He told me he was walking from the car. Minutes later I swooped in and called his CA and explained I would take delivery of it next week if he in fact matched my current payment.

He did.

It's mine.

I am elated.

I don't really care about BT at all. This allowed me to get the model that I REALLY wanted, in the color I wanted and equipped how I wanted while still base car money which was within my comfort zone.

That is an understatement.

I am working with the new dealer to see if they would take my CC for $400 more than other dealers offered. That way I drive up in the CC and drive home in the BMW.

NICE!

How much difference in MSRP?
How much discount/off did you get on the Msport?

About $5500 between the two cars.

I walked with the car about $700 under invoice. Granted, they were more inclined to take money off to the person frustrated with the error and who waited 8 weeks. But I was within $500 of their last ditch offer to him. They were not going to go any lower as they felt they could sell this car without THAT much effort.

Like I said above, I think I did great. But BMWs still sell well enough that I was not going to get some fire sale price for $10k off.

now your job is to be the first to retrofit the bluetooth kit and show both BMW and the members on here that this whole thing doesn't have to be the big deal it has become

thumbs up. That car would've sat on the lot for longer than they thought - glad they came so close to what they offered me. CA is a good guy, he was genuinely disappointed that BMW wouldn't do anything more for me, so I'm glad you and he worked it out. It's an awesome car, you'll love it, and I'll hate myself, haha!

Yeah, they could have been proven wrong and have the car sit and maybe take a bigger hit on it in 6 months. Meanwhile, it was pretty much my dream car(within reason) and there at the right time and the right price.

I will be looking into it. Won't be worth more than a couple hundred bucks to me though.
