So I was driving down this super narrow street....
...barely wide enough for 2 cars. I was travelling VERY slow (5 MPH) and this other guy (oncoming) is stopped in a wider area, like he's going to let me get through first...nope, he starts driving. So I stop and just wait, thinking....if he hits my brand new car, I 'm going to beat his a$$!!!!
Nope, he missed me, but scraped the whole side of his own car!!! I hate driving here. Hate the roads, hate the other drivers. I can't wait to move back to the states!!! I am avoiding narrow roads now at all costs....but it's hard to do. I'm putting a lot of miles on the car doing that!Wife of Ben in Italy |

I loved driving on Europe's narrow streets. Now that I'm back over here in the US, I zip in and out of narrow spaces (parking lots, between other cars on the highway, etc) with no problem. Other people freak out when theyre riding with me.

I miss the driving in Italy. I lived in Naples for over three years and man was that crazy. I only had one accident and luckily I only damaged my car and nothing else. Italian driving made me feel alive but I do know it is not for everybody.
I miss the Autostradas and going as fast as the car and my nerves can handle. I had an E34 BMW 520i that was just perfect for Italy and had enough protection just in case I got into an accident. I miss the twistys and doing some real technical driving. Most of all, I miss the coastal road I used to take on a daily basis to go to work. I don't know if driving a new BMW in Italy is the way to go. I know it would have given me a heart attack everytime I parked in spots built for Fiat Cinque Centos (cars about half the size of a 3 series). Take car and stay safe. Enjoy it while you can.

My experience of driving my Z3 (top opened) passing a narrow street was that I noticed that some Africians tourists sort of trying to jump out from a van parked over the pedestrian street. Just as I was driving on I heard a big 'bang' and my Z3's whole damn side mirror disappeared ! When I stopped over and also found a big scratch over the door. And all that costed me $800 to replace and repaint. The van driver did not know what had happened and it was that his friends pushed the front door wide opened and hit on my car. We did argue a while and later on I knew I had to give up this time ( as I had been winning two court cases for the last two incidents on my E320 Benz ).
Lesson learn - avoid situations like these by using the horn ! ![]()

I'd probably get the 1 series if I was living in Italy... it sure was fun driving over there. Then again, probably get a Boxter or a Cayman.
Peolple seems to be more considerate when they drive. Can't say to much for the dog poopies on the streets though. ![]() |

I guess it must depend on where you drive at, because I definitely don't find the local drivers to be considerate compared to Americans. |

M8s, italian drivers are probably the best of the world due to their love for fast cars, speed an fuel ^^
U must understand that FUN is not a straight line, like most of the american streets... Damn... we're italians, what are you pretending from us? we can't drive slow... it would be an offense for the ferraris ^^ p.s---> Buy a german or an italian car!!!
