Reliability of V10 M5/M6 ?
does anyone know about reliability for the 500hp , V10 in the M5 and M6.
A buddy of mine is smitten with getting one and I'm wondering if there have been any serous engine issues with this one. I like the M5 myself, but have the vert for the next couple of years at least, and lovin every top down minute. finally hit 60+ in the northeast today. Thanks |

It's disappointing to read all the threads about transmission and some differential problems, mixed in with an assortment of other headaches.
Everyday I drive my E60 M5 and think what an awesome and reliable setup it has been. It really has never ever given me a problem. Yes, it slams sometimes but I have figured out a way to drive it which has taken 95% of the slamming away. So who is very happy, like myself, with their E60 M5 and E63 M6 in terms of reliability? For the record: I drive a good mix of slow and easy along with some spirited driving. Hank Freid |
