E90post.com Iphone App - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

Would anyone be interested, I was just thinking about this while standing in a long ass line at the post office.

I think most of the community would be willing to help fund a Free App for the iphone, but i have no idea how we would go about getting this done.

Anyone have any experience with this?

Cool idea! No experience. Maybe a mobile browsing site would be a good start.

this was already tried and people totally freaked out so it went back to the normal website

It would be nice but I'd rather have the site fully utilize RSS feeds so that I can use in my iPhone RSS reader.

like http://m.e90post.com or something, not the main site. haha

my iphone is refusing to do anything as a registered user here. i can login, but as soon if i navigate to another page, it is asking me to login again, so all i could do is browse as anonymous user. kinda blows

I thought there was an iPhone application that took any vBulletin (or maybe it was PHPBB, hmm) site and made it readable within a native iPhone app. Could be thinking of something else though.

Regardless, cool idea. A simple iPhone-friendly vBulletin theme on a subdomain would work just as well.

Mark (site admin) created an iPhone version of the site that allowed reading of threads, but you couldn't PM or anything, which for most is fine except for the power users. One thing I like about Facebook, is you can use the full website, or there are two other URL's they have; m.facebook.com and iphone.facebook.com. I think it would be cool to see versions like come to e90post. The thing with developing an app, is it has to have the ability to automatically update live because people are constantly contributing the site, so if it doesn't live update or update every minute or so, the app would be essentially useless to consider as a tool to help people.

The current website works just fine in my iPhone. My gripe about it is that it is hard to navigate through the pulldown menus (i.e. quick links -> subscribed threads). The original iPhone friendly website didn't even had a shortcut for the "quick links" but at least the pages loaded faster and it was easier to navigate. Although it would be cool to have an iPhone app I honestly think there would be too much effort involved. It would be nice if the admins could resurrect the iPhone friendly website and maybe make a poll of the most desirable features. At least give the option to select the regular website or the iPhone-version.

A setup like the way facebook works on the iphone would be great. anyone here knows how to workthe developer's kit from apple.
