So far my efforts to use the navigation to give directions to addresses already in my contact list have been painful.
Are other people using navigation routinely with iDrive-accessed addresses from the phone? Are they having as much trouble as I am with the BMW navigation not recognizing the contact addresses, even once they are specified with the contact search function? Alternatively, I could just mount my iPhone 5 where I can see it, and use its turn-by-turn directions, which is not hard to do with Siri. |

I have addresses that work on my phone but give an "address not found" in the car nav, such as this one
Seattle BMW 1002 Airport Way S Seattle WA 98134 United States I suppose I could start permuting the S around to see whether 1002 S Airport Way or 1002 Airport Way South work better. As many of the addresses around Seattle and Bellevue have NE, S, E, etc., this could be a nuisance. |

JohnVidale,
I am not sure if this is the reason you cannot use your phone contacts, like you posted above, but this is what I find with my Acura Navi. I do not have BMW Navi. In in my Acura, I do not enter the compass direction, such as N or North as part of the street address. The street number typically determines whether it is say North or South. For you address above, I would just input 1002 Airport Way and the navi will come back with the address, showing it as South or North and I confirm address is correct. |
