Evo March 2013 review 330d m sport they said to many gears a novelty ? And moaning about the lack of steering feel , I wonder what version they had on press car as usually all the options fitted to them.
This is starting to make me thing I should tick the box for VSS as I do like to know where to wheels are heading

Regarding the number of gears, 8 seems an awful lot. In Sport modes it doesn't select 7th or 8th, so remains a close ratio'd sports box. 7/8th are fuel economy gears. So all good

Aye a bit better than the overdrive switch on the MG BGT lol thanks for the info was not aware of this

Mine does select 7th in sport. You obviously don't drive fast enough

Thinking about it I'm pretty sure it doesn't go above 3rd in Sport mode, ha ha.

They are both good IMO, but different. Either one would do for me.

if it is a 2.2 it will be far too pointy and direct for a road car,i have a 2.2 on my track car and its sharp,pointy,direct, great for catching tail slides,not something I would want on a day to day car,properly best to stick to the servotronic

It is not a linear rack though, so acts like a 2.8 in normal situations, and 1.8 at the end of travel.

So unlike a fixed rake as varies in different circumstances how does the option alter the rack? Rate

but by the time you benefit from the 1.8 at the end of travel your car is 45 deg to the direction of travel, not really road car usefull, I think id have to try the two in back to back cars to see what the differences are and if its worth having

No idea, never tried it.....but good reviews from those that have, and for £250.....worth a punt. If it only means I can get round the tight roundabouts with lock to spare, then I'll like it.

I agree and like the feel of it.
I have run the car in now (2850 miles) and booting it around, still getting 40+ MPG pushing it.

Finding it does need that bit of extra go though.

Gawd, so many of you have fully specced F30s. Bells, whistles, gongs, drums, fiddles .... the lot. But, none of you has a coffee maker or a fridge ....... yet!

I've got a fridge

(Well one of those plug-in cool box things. Never use it - although I don't tell that to the person who thought it was an imaginative gift idea!)
