I used to think that too, always scared me off.. Then finally said screw it and got a black X5, then black S5, and never felt that way with either, not terribly worse than normal anyway. I'd imagine flat black is worse than metallic. But I now have a BSM 335 about to get on a boat.

Please don't shoot me for posting 3-series pics here.. they were asked for.

Car has XPEL ultimate on all front, 35% Huperoptik on all windows, 70% on front windshield. Opti-coat goes on this weekend.

Also please don't tell my wife her car is my test platform for things I may or may not put on the M5 I order, like piano black trim -- its beautiful but I fear it will scratch easily. Debating whether opticoating it will work.

Just thought I would do a little photo shoot with some free time while the car was clean and we had a break in the weather here in Houston. Apparently there was something on the lens causing a yellow spot in the middle of some of the pictures so I'll have to be sure to clean it next time.

Mods so far: M Performance Exhaust, Black Grilles, M Performance Carbon Fiber Shifter, M Performance Rear Spoiler

I just got the shifter yesterday, it was a bit underwhelming at first. When I replaced the shifter in my Audi it was a whole new shifter where as for $160 this was just replacement trim in carbon fiber for the shifter. But after getting it on I love it, the dry look of the weave and being able to feel it makes for a great item.

I was really trying to capture the angles of the spoiler in the majority of the pictures. I really love the contrast with the matte black (thanks again to Scott @ BMW Houston North).

Toying with the next mod. I'm thinking either springs, front lip, or complete the carbon fiber interior trim kit.

Its really simple. The panel with the gear listings pops off and then undo one torx screw and the silver trim comes right off and redo.

The spoiler install really isn't to difficult, just align it correctly and get the fitment right the first time because the adhesive that comes with it, basically cements the spoiler to the car the instant it touches it.

The dealer is installing the spoiler, they claimed I need special adhesive because a customer installed it last month and it blew off??

I guess with the below freezing temp's out here I can understand...it'll be $650 installed.

Anybody has pics of Black with Hood stripes, Racing stripes, or M Stripes on hood???? I considering this mod, and want to see on Black. Most of cars that have black hood stripes are white.

Here is a crappy cell phone pic of my jet black 2012 320i. It's has manual trans, Premium pkg (glass sunroof), sat radio, and heated wheel. I got rid of the run flat tires and I had the windows tinted also.
