NO...He said it took Audi 20 years to build up to where it is.. So Jag has a long way to go!

There are some great Jag designs like the F but what is a Jag? They are so randomly changing body styles to this and that to try and figure out what they are that nobody knows what they are.

At least BMW, Audi, Mercedes know what they are and are somewhat consistent in design. Jag is just random from year to year searching to be something. I'm not hating but this is what I see with Jag.

Then AUDI, MB, CADDY & JAG can all gather around the campfire and sing Kumbuya...

I love jags styling interior and exterior. It's cool they're bringing a car to the entry level luxury segment. Lets just hope it looks and drives well!

We had our Jag for 6 years (2004 to 2010) my wife loved it it was a 2004 3.0 X-Type AWD ... I still get to hear about it here and then why I traded her for a Benz from my wife, It was a fine automobile they made in 2004, my friends of course called her a Ford. She handled well all year round, no complains. I just wanted a different DD at the time.

I don't know why people would dislike the Jag, it was a fine car when I owned it. Bet the new one is even better. We went for a Benz in 2010 as our DD since Jag at the time did not have the same size as our former Jag, only the larger one. I bet my wife would go for the new one in a heart beat.

Based on the pic alone I'd take that over a 3 series all day. As I've said in other posts I am no fan of the design of the latest 3 series.

Can't agree with this statement at all. The 2008 facelift made it a little more tolerable but the X-type never appealed to me. Share the same platform as the Ford Mondeo and it really never captured the essence or styling of a Jaguar IMO.

I agree. Bad things happened to such an iconic brand with the Ford takeover. None of the cars at the time, especially the X-type, were true Jaguars. I'm feeling positive with Tata though... the XJ, XK, and even the XF are looking pretty stunning lately. Let's hope this rumored model is a sleek sporty sedan with a coupe/convertible variant that looks like a smaller XK. I'd buy it!!!

someone shopped an Aston/Jag grille onto all the new ford**

Seriously, wtf is ford doing with their new grills?

2010 XJR

2013 Taurus

2013 Fusion/Mondeo

2011/2 Aston Virage

Ford owns Aston/Jag, so now essentially Ford is taking the british grilles, not the other way around...

My opinion on this...

If Jaguar makes a successor to the X-type, it might convince me to get that instead of a F30...I hope it's lightweight, semi-powerful (250-300 HP, 2.5-3L engine, naturally aspirated/supercharged) and <42k base...

Also, any thoughts on the Jag F-Type as a competitor to the F30/32 M3/4?

Ford doesn't own Aston or Jag.
