UK doesn't require front bumper deflector?

One is a side camera, and I believe the other is a ultrasonic sensor (for park assist?)

Ah ha. Look forward to the day when BMW can do all this sensing/detecting without making our bumpers look like Swiss cheese.

They do manage to hide the ones in the bottom of the wing mirrors well.

They do hide those OK.

I do wish the top view cams were better to detect obstructions when parking in forward. The top view seems to be geared towards backing into a spot. I'd like to be able to effectively see curbs, etc. when entering a parking space going forward. They aren't real good at that!

Yeah I agree, there seems to be a cut off area at the front. Having said that there is no camera used front facing for the surround view?

I have found surround view useful in those awful tight car park exits with raised curbs both sides and bends thrown in for the fun of it - well more an excuse to turn it on.

You got it!

The day they add better front end/side view and warning is when I fully validate what they're doing. I want a cam at my front bumper (or lower PDC sensors) to make sure I don't get too close to parking bumpers. Next gen, maybe!

YES mine is on and working along with Side view cameras.

The other is an ultrasonic detector for Parking Assist. It basically is used to measure the length of a parking space to determine whether there is enough space to fit into.

No I didn't... thought best not to!... but there is talk somewhere of them being cheaper than the 18".

I'd expect £200 - £250 a corner. I usually find the best price then get BMW to match it, works every time and I avoid another alloy being scratched.
