I did code multiple modules from 48.3 though using E-Sys v3.18.4. (hu_cic, kombi, rem_01).

I don't think my F30 necessarily needs the files from 48.3, maybe a slightly earlier version of 48.x. Or would that not make a difference?

If you are at an integration level less than F020-12-11-505, then you can used 48.1 or 48.2 and you can use the old E-sys token with 3.18.4.

If you are at F020-12-11-505, then you need 48.3.

You can check your integration level of your car using this procedure:

When you successfully coded your CIC and others, did you do it with just the new 48.3 CAFD files, or with a complete 48.3 install?

OK, where can I get or generate a working fake VIN? Yes it was not there before, but after adding 6al, 614, 615 and coding hu_CIC and cmb_media it appered but needs to be activated by opening the Option menu on telephone Bluetooth page. On my droid I activated Bluetooth tethering. I am usig cyanogenmod 10.1, but it should work with regular rom, too.

There are some steps necessary. Basically you have to follow Guide 3 (E-Sys - Getting Started Supplement - Part 3.pdf ) of the documents which are attached on initial post of this thread to change from 6nh to 6nk. Afterwards you just hit the code button for HU_CIC and CMB_Media in the code section in expert mode.

That was last night. This morning started my car and went to BMW Live. Now I got a wizard for selecting my country and so on. But after setting up - I now get a different error message. Whats up there? Do I still need to change VIN? The wizard did not came up last night.

I can't send you anything as your Post Count is too low. So, either increase your Post Count, or put up an email address.

Changing from 6NH to 6NK is quite simple. Edit your FA (VO) to replace 6NH with 6NK. Load and activate modified FA, and VO code Head Unit and Combox if you have one.

Being quite new to this, I wonder what replacing 6NH with 6NK actually does to your car. Does this mean you get voice control?

No. Assuming you had the hardware required for Voice Control, Voice Control requires an FSC Code Imported and Activated in CIC or NBT.

Thank you for all the helpful info. I'll run that procedure shortly and see what I get in return. I'm starting to think if I can find the 48.2 or 48.1 psdzdata files I would be in good shape.

When I coded my CIC, I did not do a complete install. Just removed the old psdzdata folder, and moved in the 48.3 psdzdata folder -this is the method which worked for cic, rem, kombi, but not fem_body.

I attached the log here. It's capturing when I try to code fem_body and it's consequent failure.

FEM_BODY (794) 004_124_042 was added in release 48.1. Try reverting to a full release of 48.1 and try coding it again.

Don't hassle with 48.3 until you need it.

I configured and installed a virtual XP and 7 with E-sys 3.18.4 and psdz 48.1 on my MacBook with both Parallels and VMware fusion but I was unable to get a working connection. Now troubleshooting back I found I do not even receive an ip address on my MacBook 's network adapter other as a 169.254.x.x (apipa address). This basically explains why it is not working in a virtual windows xp/7 as I do not receive an IP address on a normal network adapter.

Now I am wondering if anybody knows which IP address, subnetmask has to be configured manually to make a connection if dhcp is not working ?

Hello everybody. I'm an F20's 125i italian owner.
I looked for a topic where introduce me but didn't find anything.
I have some problem with my car:
I bought it in Germany and it's fully specced with all the necessary for connectivity: nav prof,internet,bmw online, bmw live,apps etc...
The problem is I can't connect to bmw online via bluetooth connection of my phone, neither I can access to emails and text messages from it.
I can just look at my contacts but nothing more and so I cant access internet via my phone neither via car's connection.
I've read that maybe there's something to code to make internet or bmw live or bmw online (didn't understood well ) works on my car.
Can someone help me?

I'm using Macbook Pro with Bootcamp on Win7 and have no problems coding.
