Window tint opinions needed! - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

Hi guys,

I just wanted to get everyone's opinion and help on deciding what percentage I should tint my car.
I have a 2012 328i sport line with black interior. The exterior is mineral grey.
Need help deciding between 20% or 35% all around! Taking all the advice I can get. Thanks :-)

Id do limo all around with the front two beings 15 or 20 percent

If u do 20% it will make the car look cheap do 35 bcuz ur interior is black so that will make the windows look darker and you have a dark rxterior color already

Just tinted my car today. Limo all around with the front two being 17%. Looks sexy!

On my old car, I did 20% all around, I had trouble seeing at night when looking in the rear. I also had some problems during inspection in Texas since they raised the limit from 22% to 25%.

I am going to do 25% all around on my 328i. It still looks clean, its legal and with black interior, it will make it look dark IMO

I have an alpine white with black interior and tinted 35%. It's a perfect amount of darkness.

I went with 35% Huper Optik all around except windshield and it seems like the perfect compromise to me. Not too dark to see out of at night, but really cuts down on the glare and heat in the Arizona sun. I've got mineral grey with black interior.
I don't have problems with scratches in the film. I never got my E90 tinted so I didn't see what other posters were talking about.

I ended up doing 20% rear and 35% sides... Looks super sexy and stealth, without being overdone. Looks perfect with my MG color.

Agreed. Got mine done at 35% looks great! limo tint will suck for night visibility. had it on my last car never going to do that again.

i had 30% on my AW/Black E92 and I wished it was darker so I will be going for 20% all around on my F30. In New York, pretty much all tint is illegal so if they want to stop you for it, they wont care if its 20 or 30 or 35.

Huber Optik 5% all the way around here. I've always had 5% on all my cars so I'm used to it.

So 35% VLT will make the exterior look darker (and cheaper) than 20% VLT?
