Anyone on the gentle leader? It picked up my car on 1 Feb and is due in to Port Hueneme on 26 February. Right now it has just left the English Channel. Due in Panama in 12 days.

Gentle Leader is an NYK lines ship. NYK lines offers NO good web or phone based data on ship schedules or cargo.

According to my client advisor, the ship is due in Port Hueneme on 27 Feb. Tracking the vessel on www.marinetraffic.com when it is near the coast and on sailwx.info when it is at sea (longer intervals between updates). This morning the ship was just off the Portugese coast. Due Panama canal 10 days from now (2/15).

Sounds like a cool build.

I placed my order 14 December. So I have been waiting close enough to 2 months. A glass half full way of looking at it is that we are about a month from getting the car so we are over half way in our wait.

She should be in tracking range of the Carribean by mid day on Wednesday. Looks like she stayed south of the storm track from last weekend.

Ship on schedule - just sighted off the shores of the Domincan Republic.

Here the ship is again, back on the tracking screen. Waiting to go through the panama canal.

After about 24 hours at anchor, the Gentle Leader passed through the Gatun Locks on the Atlantic side of the Panama canal just after sunrise this morning. She is now "Southbound" as it is termed in the Canal. It was fascinating to watch the whole process live on webcams. Here are some captures from the panama canal webcams and from marinetraffic.com

A couple of captures from the Miraflores Lock webcam as the Gentle Leader is lowered to Pacific ocean sea level. She will drop off the AIS tracker websites until the 23rd or 24th.

What is the final destination? Is it ahead of sechdule ?

Her next port of call is San Diego on 25 February. Maybe Long Beach on the 26th, if past BMW West Coast schedules hold. Then Port Hueneme on 27 Feb where our BMW's will be unloaded at the West Coast Vehicle Processing Center. From there it's 5-7 days till delivery.

Day comes so close! I think about the moment I pick up the car every night before I go to the bed. It's a torture!

I emailed my Internet Agent couples times, he ignores me. It makes me kinda anxious now.

Anxiety is certainly building. Ship is still out of range, as expected. I have started the pre-delivery checklist in my head. I'm ready!

Here she is back on the screen for a little bit as she steams past the coast of Baja California. Still on track for a 1300 Monday docking in San Diego.

She docked at San Diego this morning at 0730 my time. As of now she's still tied up there at the auto pier.

Only 2 days before the cars are offloaded. After that we lose ALL visbility into what's going on. Next up will be a call from our CA saying the car is at the dealership ready to be picked up.
