DO NOT update services again or you will loose BMW Live and Internet.

*** If you do not return the Combox VIN to car VIN, you will encounter problems with future dealer programming, as the Combox will not be recognized, and programming will hault.

Hey Shawn, is this 100% reversible? Also if you don't mind me asking, where did you find the VIN with the telematic options?

Shawn, I changed my VO to the following but instead of connected drive, it's giving me BMW Assist again on the main menu. After writing the ghost VIN to the combox, I still don't have the option for BT data transfer under telephone.

Below is my current VO with all the modifications; is there something I need to remove?

Yes, it is 100% reversible. Just use your factory VO, and VO Code Combox and Head Unit ECU's.

I have PM'd you a VIN to try with Factory 614 and 615.

Why do you have both 644 and 6NK? I think you need only 6NK.

Neither though includes BMW Assist, so I am not sure why it is appearing, unless it just cant handle the conflict between the two.

You can also just FDL Code HU_CIC / CONNECTED_DRIVE = aktiv to get ConnectedDrive Option.

My BMW Assist menu used to just list phone numbers for my nearest service centre and dealer. After coding the VO's, BMW Live and Internet now show up under that BMW assist menu but I still don't have the Bluetooth Data option available on my bluetooth profiles.

My Combox is currently running on the VIN you gave me and same result. I'm starting to think it's maybe the phone I'm using. When you got this to work, was this on a iPhone?

6NK was changed from 6NH. The 644 was added there from from your original post; I never had it on my original factory VO. I'll try taking out 644 and just leave the 6NK and see what happens.

My car had 639, which is Bluetooth with Assist, and I replaced it with 644, which is Bluetooth without Assist.

Since you already have 639, which is Bluetooth without Assist, you don't need to add 644.

Also, do you have Mobile Hotspot and Tethering service on your iPhone, and do you have them enabled?

hmm I don't have 639 on my VO but I'll take out 644 and see what that does. I do have mobile hotspot and tethering enabled on my iPhone.

My understanding is, if you don't use the EU VIN but have BT Data enabled, it will give you an error messaging saying that BMW is not support in your region right?

hi shawn & kon,

yesterday, my dealer is trying to program my cic after mperformance kit installed. But however, they cannot complete the diagnostic test after its prompted out combo signal failed. eventually they put the blame on my 3rd party sound audio installed.

My bluetooth is working , any clue what is happening ? anything to do with the VO i i have changed previously from 6NH to 6NR?

PS: I ended up doing the Mperformance kit coding myself,as you have tips me to add SPBR and code DSC, but i want future new ilevel update. Thanks

Finally read through the 2563 post in this thread, took me a while and downloaded E-Sys & PDZ data in between. Was amaze by the information and knowledge gain from reading.

Coded my F30 328i yesterday for the ASS and Delay time for folding mirror using Keyfob.

I am located in Malaysia, below is the SALAPA List I have:-

I meant to say you had 6NK (changed from 6NH), not 639. The point is that you only need one Bluetooth code, and 6NK is the one for you. I went from 639 to 644, just to eliminate BMW Assist. Likewise, if someone had 6NL, they would want to change it to 6NK.

I think you mean 6NH to 6NK, not 6NR.

I have no idea what caused ISTA/P to fail. It is possible 6NK written to the car may have, but I just don't know for sure.

I took out the 644 and VO coded HU_CIC and CMB_MEDIA with 614 and 615 added to my VO and I get the same thing. Enabling Connected Drive does allow me to see the connected drive menu with BMW Live and Internet there.

When I went back into HU_CIC, I noticed that BT Data Transfer and BT DUN weren't set to Aktiv so I changed those and I get the same result. Every time I pair my iPhone 5 to the car, I only have the audio and telephone options.

Not sure how you were able to get the BT Data Transfer option to become available on your BT profile but I can never get that to show up. I do have tethering and personal hotspot enabled on my device. Any more ideas?

On a note, I did change Language 1 to English UK and my voice control and navigation speaks with a British accent

he should have 6NK originally, to be absolutely sure, ykau check your current FA against bmwvin.com to confirm what you have altered

they must have their reason to blame the audio, best is check with your audio shop, alternatively, ask your audio shop to take out whatever they've add-on/connect to the combox or other parts of the vehicle and return to the dealer to verify. As mentioned earlier, you might also want to check what VO item you change, and restore it as well (compare against BMWvin.com)

I'm envy, didn't know BMW Malaysia are pre-equipped with BMW Apps (6NR).

From your option list, I cannot see why you don't have additional telephone. Possible reason is that your I-step is too old, and BMW Malaysia has not activated it, or you didn't activate it yourself. Look inside Telephone / Bluetooth menu. Hit Option button > Bluetooth Settings, and make sure your "Additional Telephone" is selected.
