BMW remote replaces Comfort Access?
Ok so not really, but at least for the iPhone if you download the BMW Remote App and have BMW Assist (need username and password), you can use the app to remotely do the following:
1) Lock/Unlock 2) Beep horn 3) Flash lights 4) Locate your car via GPS The bad thing is the app takes about 1-2 minutes to transmit the signal to your car so if you want to unlock your car - do it a couple of minutes before you walk outside if you can remember. Its a cool feature but I wish the response time was better. |

I can see unlocking the doors in some sort of emergency, but how is that easier/faster/safer than just walking up to the car and opening the door, automatically unlocking it in the process? You have to pull the handle anyway!
I can see the locking thing being useful to remotely lock your car if you think you forgot to lock it. |

By far sending the address to the nav is much easier than trying to enter it with idrive. When in the car it comes pretty instantaneously. I mean when i put in an address for something in los angeles why are there 5 different los angeles entries. At least show the zip code then.

I think they need to be on your phone--at least mine are.

My addresses are all on my phone, and work fine there in Apple Maps, but the formatting is messed up on transfer to the car, and doesn't drive the directions in the BMW navigator.
So others have succeeded in having most of their addresses synch to become available to set as destinations in the car navigator? |
