If the noise is coming from the mirror, then I don't see how this gap would increase the noise. Can you post a picture of where you put the tape and more importantly, did it reduce or eliminate the wind noise? |

My noise appears to he coming from around the b pillar. No real whistle just general wind / road noise. Louder than my old 2007 Vauxhall Astra!

that's like my symptoms too. No major whistle really but, there is a very low vol whistles sometime, I think depending on wind directions hitting the car.

Agreed. The noise is definitely louder in a cross wind. Does that mean that there's more to the noise than just the mirrors?

I feel a draft coming in from the bottom of the driver's side door. I started noticing it when it
Got colder outside. Even if I turn up the heat the draft is noticeable. Also above 55mph there's wind noise coming in from the windshield , this is definitely not normal and this is the first car I encountered this. |

I have the wind noise issue as well, we noticed it the very night we picked up the car...it is very annoying and to have this on a $50K car is not good!
I just dropped it off at the dealership today for this issue...thanks to this thread I told them to not mess with any seals or replace the windshield, i just want this issue noted and see if what the resolution is in PUMA, and to call me before any work is done on the car with the proposed solution...no call yet. I am not happy that this is happening on many other F30s because that means I have an issue that is not easily resolved...if there even is a resolution for it. I prefer them not mess with the windshield, sunroof, seals, etc until they determine what the exact cause is... I am waiting for Feb 1 to see if the new mirror caps resolve the issue as a previous poster mentioned he will update us on Feb 1 after he gets them installed... And for everyone saying just turn up the radio, I shouldnt have to turn the radio up to avoid hearing a noise that shouldnt be there in the first place. If I have the volume low, I can still hear it and it is annoying as fkuc! |

Whistling sound resolved...
Took my car into the dealer to have the ASS re-code and to check a whistling sound coming from the passenger side A-pillar area when driving at highway speeds. Got the re-code done and the whistle resolved. It was the windshield side trim that was not tightly attached and would let air through a small gap hence the whistle. Attached is the technician's notes and a picture of the windshield trim.

The post above is absolutely correct!!!
My dealership came to the same exact conclusions and notes on the paperwork match!! I just did not have time to take the picture and post the results just yet as I was busy with Gasperilla and the pirates invading Tampa... But a resolution has been found and I am estatic! ![]() |

Mine started at about 50 - 60 miles an hour...it might be several different causes because in this exact thread one person said replacing the windshield worked, another said adjusting the sun roof worked, and for two of us replacing the windshield side trim solved the issue...just my two cents

Si B51 22 12
SI B51 22 12
Body Equipment This Service Information bulletin supersedes SI B5122 12 dated June 2012. designates changes to this revision SUBJECT Wind Noise from Front Door Window Seal by Side Mirror MODEL F30 From start of production (SOP) to June 2012 SITUATION The front window may have wind noise by the side mirror when driving. CAUSE The window guide seal is not properly fitted to thedoor. PROCEDURE With the window closed, confirm the location of thedeformed (folded-in) window guide seal near the mirror triangle, and then proceed to the next step. 1. On the affected front door, check both sides of the seal and locate the folded-in area. 2. This close-up shows the folded-in seal area. Insert a narrow nylon tool from above the fold and between the window glass and seal. Gently work the tool downward, and pry the seal outward to eliminate the folded area. 3. Confirm that both the inside and outside of the front window glass are parallel to the seal and uniform with no folds. The window must remain closed for a minimum of two hours for the seal to “learn” the new position |
