Do you guys ever get this line when making a comment about someone else's car? "Not everyone can drive a BMW like you.."

It doesn't matter what I drive, it's my opinion about their car lol I could drive a 93 geo metro and I would still laugh at people who rice out their cars and do stupid mods.

I saw a GTI today that had a plate which read UMADDOE. As in, I'm mad/jealous of his sweet ride! I was commenting on how stupid the plate was and esp on a GTI that was only lowered with stickers all over the back window. Then someone makes the comment "well not everyone can drive a bmw like you, some just make do with what they have.."

The FUCK? This kid wasn't just making do with what "he had", he thought his ride was ballin and better than everyone elses. Implying that if someone didn't like his ride they were just jealous haters...

Who gives a shit what I drive, it doesn't dictate my opinion on others cars. I had that opinion well before my bmw...

I get it a lot. I can't even carry a normal conversation about cars without hearing something similar... I saw an old friend the other day who had a pretty nice charger a few years back, so I asked him what he was driving these days. He was like "Same shit, we can't all have a BMW you know". He was kidding, but I do know what you mean.

But I don't come at them the way you seem to. I couldn't care less what someone does with their own car... it's theirs, not mine. Dude likes his car, let him like his car.

I pulled up to this guy next to me and this dude, homeless guy, was driving a 1984 Walmart Shopping Cart .. He had those shopping-cart nuts on it I've been wanting to hang on my BMW. I was like, "dude what the hell are you driving, that's funny!" Then I pointed, and laughed. He was like, "not everyone can drive a BMW like you!!"

What?

Seriously, I live in South Florida. No one here gives a damn.

I get it all the time... i'm considered a "younger" driver for one of these fine f30's and i either get the look from people that think:

A: this is daddy's car
B: get the nastiest looks for no reason

i dont do anything at all to provoke any of these people but like other members here said, haters will hate.

That said, i've had the occasional comments from my boss on how he wish he could drive a BMW (the guy is way richer than me) but other than that nothing too nasty.

I did have one of my older colleagues tell me that i should've have gotten this car as i should've "worked" my way up to this type of car, didn't know what to say to that but i imagined he was just jealous
