Powder coat with lease??

Hey everyone I have a BSM 335i on lease and wanted to powder coat the stocks until I make a choice of aftermarket. Is this allowed and what would prices run?

Thats permanent I think they may fronw upon it but Im not sure. Why not just plasti dip them?

You can always peel it off and its super durable. They took an 1800 psi pressure washer to them and it didnt come off.

Thanks a lot for the help! I don't even know why I didn't think of that.

I wouldn't recommend it but depending what color powder coat, you may be able to get away with it. I know someone who turned in a car with pc'd wheels but not worth it in my opinion. Why not go aftermarket sooner?

I just plastidipped mine. Didn't like the way the drivers side turned out, so I'm peeling it and starting over. I will say, contrary to what that video says, I got better results when I laid it on pretty thick on the coats. I tried the a few dust coats but it left me with a textured finish. Plus, thicker is easier to peel off.

I'd assume the chances of them not noticing that you painted the wheels is fairly slim. Not impossible, but slim.

Either way...given the price of OEM wheels I would not want to find out the hard way, or that would be the worst $2500 decision you ever made.

Conceivably you could try to swap them for a stock set before your trade in, but that implies someone is willing to swap a nice set of wheels for a set with 3 years of wear on them.

Having worked in car dealerships for 13yrs, I can tell you that you won't be penalized for additions such as tint, wheels etc upon lease turn in but neither will you receive any value for said items.
