Black OEM sport rims?

Has anyone painted their OEM sport line rims black ? If so, pics would be great.

Thinking about Plasti-dipping my existing sport wheels before I make the leap to a new set, but have yet to see anyone doing this.

I've seen it done on the forum before. Might want to search the photo thread. It's on there. Couple months back.

I just finished the drivers side and decided to snap some iPhone pics before I did the other side. First experience with Plastidip and the 2nd wheel came out better than the 1st. I sprayed a couple coats of semi gloss enamel on top of the dip and the took a scotchbrite pad to even out the surface and take some of the sheen off. From 2ft away and beyond it looks really good. If you get up close, you can see some imperfections.

This is really just a temporary finish and I just wanted to see if what all black would look out. I was beginning to think the whole black wheel fad is overdone and immature, but after seeing it, my inner 12yr old screamed "BADASS!!"

the wheels actually looks nice. However, the first thing I noticed is not the wheels but your paint... It looks so "worn out". But then that is the image noise that you get with miserable cameras!! Guess the noise is much more pronounced on black cars.

It's not the paint. It was pretty cloudy here in PHX today so I had to boost the brightness which added all the noise. Plus the iPhone camera is not the greatest in low light conditions.

really like the OEM 397 design (black is awesome!), just a pity that it's not staggered, look way better than the 400M wheels

I do think the all black "murdered out" look has become a little too ricey, but that's the great thing about Plasti-dip, I can peel it off anytime I want. I'm just waiting for some new wheels and then I will return them to stock when they are off the car.
