How to disconnect the center speaker? Also what are recommend EQ settings for the HK?

2) We are introducing a complete plug-and-play subwoofer package by Christmas for the h/k system. Probably going to start at $995 for the completely-stock-looking, no-modification required, plug-and-play system.

We are behind my original schedule, but I like how it looks. Imagine this in matching upholstery and with a matching grille:

What is included in the package deal?

The US standard setup (called HiFi in Europe) has only 9 speakers:

4" 1 mid dash
1" 2 tweets sail front
4" 2 mids front doors
8" 2 woofers under the front seats
4" 2 mids back doors

Thanks for all the information,

I am in Canada, and leasing the value edition of 328i. I think I do not even have the HiFi system. The audio quality is just unacceptable, it made my music library dull, unpleasant, and frustrating! Since I am leasing it, I guess there is no point I for me to do any mods.

Along with other issues, such as lack of enhanced Bluetooth, and undesired wooden interior, I really want to get rid of this lease.

This isn't really an apples to apples comparison.

Our speakers are designed as a direct, plug-and-play upgrade system, optimized for use with the factory amp. The same can't be said for the Polk Audio drivers, which are likely to require modification and quite a bit of work to fit in the car, and no real data exists on whether they'd perform well in the application.

What is "a little?" What aspects of the audio system are you trying to improve?

Doors are 4" in size and basically nothing on the aftermarket except our speakers are plug and play.

Micah is correct that only his speakers plug in and bolt on, AND are presented as speakers that work with the stock HK amplifier.

Of course, if you're talking about plug-in and bolt-on speakers into the car, using a DIFFERENT amplifier (one might even use an amplifier without the stock processing, for example) then there is more than one option.

I will be posting pics and screenshots of the electrical freq response of the HiFi system any day. I didn't take any acoustic measurements of the HiFi system, because it sounded like crap, so I really didn't care about the frequency response. We didn't have it long enough to do any impulse response curves or distortion measurements, I'm afraid.

They also happen to sound quite good with an aftermarket amp, if that's preferred.
