You are correct, only thing I really ever have to do is put fuel in the thing, new tires and change the oil, other than that, it just goes. I refuse to go "cheap" just to be able to go fast and have to do it over again a few times. Not a problem, it's nice to talk to other people who understand it vs the people around me who think I'm insane.

What do you have for function built race cars if you don't mind me asking?
Exactly what I want. I agree on doing it right the first time even if it will cost an arm and a leg.

I've built a few over the years my 3 most memorable are an 06 Accord coupe that I built with the intention of "oh shit, did that accord just beat that m3?" lol, I sold it off a couple years ago and the new owners are actually competing in a couple series with it. Last I heard it broke the 2 minute mark around buttonwillow the other two I still own, an 87 Porsche 924s that I built to race in 944 spec (actually got my NASA competition license for that) but I unfortunately couldn't "make it" and paying out of pocket to keep competing was very expensive, a sponsor would have been nice. and my latest is a Porsche 928s built for fun at the track no serious competition. Its still completely built though (mainly for safety) this is my favorite track car to date, 450whp/tq in a 2600lb car

Today is my Friday! Decided I earned tomorrow off, and since I'm the boss, I'm going to sit at home and do absolutely nothing. With my luck, I'll work all day tomorrow, and most of Saturday though, since that's how things are going lately. Oh well, can't complain, business is good for the first time in 4 years.

Not sure how I missed this.... I'm jealous of what you have. I hope to one day be able to get back into NASA racing. It's not a cheap thing to do, but oh so fun. Having something fun like the 928 is what I need to do next, I apparently already have "too many" toys as it is though, which I didn't know was possible.

There are a whole new set of challenges that go along with it, but I certainly wouldn't be able to go back to being in "Corporate America" again without some amount of kicking, screaming and relearning some things.

doing it competitively was very very expensive, but now that I just do track days for fun its much cheaper. I can go 3-4 events on one set of tires instead of buying a new set of brakes/tires/race fuel, not to mention the towing and hotels etc. Now days since I only race socal tracks I probably dont spend more than $400-$500 per event and that covers everything. I just recently picked up another 928 that I plan on building as well (going widebody and turbo on this one though) so I may have the current 928 for sale in a couple years if i'm still around

How does having extra help correlate to corruption?

Happy Friday everyone GL at work today. My car is due for service so i'll be headed out a little bit early, putting the cowl and hvac on last night was such a pita. I just put in the two outside supporting screws for the hvac and cowl, I couldn't be bothered to do the 4 other inside ones that are entirely redundant and useless. If the techs want to give me free screws they're welcome to

Today has been rough, got out of bed long enough to get my laptop and do morning activities (shit, coffee, etc.) and haven't moved from bed since getting back in. I think I'm going to start working from home more often. So much for "day off" though, my customers couldn't possibly have problems on a Monday...
