Static sound with iPhone 5 and y cable - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

I recently bought a F30 328i. I was not familiar with the different USB/BT packages. I guess i have the basic. The USB on the center arm rest only works with the y cable. Im using the y cable and the lighting to 30 pin adapter and im getting static noise always. Anybody else having this issue? What retrofit options do I have, if any?

Mine works perfectly.
Exact same set up.
Does your Y cable work fine with an older iphone/ipod? Does your adaptor work fine else where too?

I haven't check with a different iPhone. We only have the iPhone 5 at home.
