if you look in the manual, tehre are certian creteria that have to be met before it will do this. DOn't recall off teh top of my head but it includes the state of the battery, whether the desired inside temperature has been met yet, outside temperature plus some others.

Also won't work if you are on an incline or decline, or if the steering wheel is not straight when stopped.

Actually it does still engage if the steering wheel is turned when stopped, however the engine will restart if you move the steering wheel while stopped.

To your point TrueBlue12, it's annoying that ASS switches on (I don't mean activates) after switching it off but then flick back into EcoPro. I get the rationale (Eco-Pro = most fuel efficient setting) but nonetheless, annoying!
Coming to a stop at traffic lights I realised ASS was about to activate (even though I'd switched it off when I started my journey) so hurriedly reached for the ASS button - I hit the engine start/stop instead and of course the engine died whilst I was still slowing. From my seating position I can't see the two buttons. The brakes and steering still functioned enough to remain in control (though I assume they both need the engine to work normally). |
