Big improvement over stock. It's an axle back, right? Any other exhaust mods on the car?

Probably a really dumb question, but: What exactly does putting a performance exhaust get you? Does it simply make it louder or do you actually get a power increase?

Sorry, just saw your post on the other thread, so I can answer my own questions: yes it's axle back, and no, no other exhaust mods.

I dunno if it gain much but I do believe that by putting this on makes it less restrictive to some degree. So maybe some power might be gained but not by much unless u do a retune/flash.

The stock exhaust is a full 3in. Or really close to one. So it already flows pretty well.

Terrible audio quality but from what I can tell, the exhaust sounds really good. Sounds a lot better than the 335 exhaust.

OP, that sounds cool.
If your friend has the all the mounts that came with the GoPro, use the suction cup mount to put the camera on the car facing the exhaust. Then you can go through the gears to give us a "real World" experience of how it sounds as opposed to just revving.

Sounds great! Mine goes on tomorrow! Now I'm excited. Since we are vendors on here my dealership is throwing one on my car for marketing purposes. To be honest though I don't believe that there is any power gains. I think it's just for a more aggressive sound. What I've noticed on the other BMW Performance and M Performance exhausts is that the casing is very close to stock with the internals being different to create the more aggressive sound. When I did my 135 BMW Performance exhaust there was no difference in weight or power just sound.

I like it. Really livens up the car. So this is the M Performance exhaust version for the N20? Is it a whole catback or just the axle back like the 335i?

In my opinion if it is the M perf exhaust it, they did a way better job for the N20 version exhaust then the 335i version. My 335i sounds good to me but alot of people wish it was louder. The N20 is just right with this exhaust.
