Looking at those Reg plates they can't be F30 but E9X cars. F30 didn't come out till 12 plates.

Have a look on the UK section of E90Post. They've been banging on about it for ages. It was even on Watchdog.

My take away was... the 318 and 320 are considered high powered???

Yep, nothing new here and looks like E90 cars.
I'd certainly *hope* BMW have sorted out the ODB port issue on F3X cars.

The diagnostics port 'loophole' was supposed to have been fixed by BMW from Sept 2011 onwards.

We never bother to get our E91 software upgraded but the dealer said the fix basically disables the port when the car is switched off. E9X LCI & F3X require the motor to be running to make use of the port.

My E90 (2011) was stolen by these means. I still have both keys sitting in my drawer. It was stolen from outside my house, no glass smashed or forced entry.
The F30's do not have these problems apparantly. Fingers crossed.
