It actually seems to work a lot better with Spotify over Bluetooth now. Obviously no album art, but the iDrive display does appear to actually "sync" with the iPhone properly by showing the correct song title-- even when I try to move forward rapidly. Prior to this update, the song on the iDrive screen would not always show the current song that was actually playing.

A question for fellow members. I see my vehicle is eligible for this update, however, I see other updates as well. Do I need to do all the updates or just the latest one? My guess would be just the latest.

I have the enhanced bluetooth option with BMW Assist, the pictures below illustrate how easy the update process is:







Bluetooth was already working great before and seems to have no issues so far using my iPhone 4S with iOS 6 to stream music and use mobile phone service.

FWIW, on the ActiveHybrid 3 with NBT nav, it reports the current version as:

"Tel: TN-001.020.022"
"Media: MN-001.020.022"


Seems like, unsurprisingly, the software is different .

Yeah, the 1006 update is only for CIC based cars.

The new NBT (new NAV) based cars use a completely new firmware base.

What does the BMW website show when you enter your VIN? Is there a newer version available? http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/nav...gion=&country=

Mine is a November build, and the site says it is up to date. I think yours is a July build, I know there have been some changes starting with Nov 2012.

It says mine is up to date as well. Whatever the changes were, they don't seem to pertain to BT/USB. I'm taking my car in on Monday to apply the FEM updates. At that time, I'll also ask them to make sure there's no other updates that the car needs.

If you want to get emails working on the Iphone 4S / 5 with IOS 6 try closing the mail app (double click the 'apple' button and close all open apps to be on the safe side). Then stick in the dock when you climb into the vehicle and yall will find the mails work but appear as SMS messages.

Still flaky but there you go - just had the whole car software updated on my F30 (at service time) and this is still the case (1st paragraph has been true since the 1005 update went on from memory)

Office works without fault on my Blackberry which is the 2nd work phone for when on call

2012 BMW F30 320d efficient dynamics

At the first service the entire car software was upgraded - I had previously updated just the Bluetooth software via USB downloads from the bmw website

I now have slightly different graphics on the 'full black screen' display that comes with Pro Nav, gear changes seem keener on the sports auto and the Nav software seems faster. A few new options have appeared in certain sub menus unless I did not notice them before

Followed the link with the last 7 digits of my VIN and it shows 2 updates available for my car. Latest one is UPD03002 (Latest Version, 5.93 MB), s I followed the instructions, put in on a pen drive then put into the usb socket.

When going through the software update, the car says no update required software is up to date. Can anyone tell me whether 7.0.75 (from the readme on the BMW site) is actually earlier software than 7.001.005 (as shown under software version in the car) ?

I downloaded it via the provided link by member Frogman. I then placed the file (.bin file) on a FAT 32 formatted USB drive in the center console. Once there, you will see a new prompt onscreen. At that point, follow the prompts as shown in my posted images.
