Can someone confirm that http://www.burgertuning.com/scanner.html work on a 2013 328i F30? I´m planning to use it to clear foult codes generated from BMS, TMC or maybe Racechip piggyback.

Sillhuvet, I have been using the enthusiast version of the cable successfully on my E60 M5 for two years now. After updating the software this week to beta version 1.9.x.x from their website www.bavariantechnic.com, the cable was able to recognize my F30. The maintenance interval data read correctly and all appropriate ECUs showed up. I did not reset error codes since I do not have any yet

I had good luck sending emails to bavarian techinic directly from their website, instead of going through distributors.

Does the bms jb1 give ghost codes ?

The bavarian technic works for my f30 but its a 335i. Deleted all codes just fine.

If by ghost codes you mean the kind that don't throw a light - then yes. They call them "shadow codes" in their software and they are displayed and erasable.

So you can lie to BMW and tell them you haven't tuned your car?

Joshhleee,

It may be a good idea to invest in the cable just to know if you are throwing codes. For me it was a cheap piece of mind, since I do track my cars occasionally. As far as the dealer is concerned: my service guy has been pretty receptive to mods in the past. I have never tuned my engines, but suspension and exhaust upgrades during warranty period were overlooked. Having said that, I've been going to the same CA for the past six years, so I think he may be cutting me some slack.

I think BT cable is a must-have if you are going to tune. I had it for 2 years with my JB4 tuned 135i and I always used it before any warranty work (HPFP issues) and regular maintenance. It NEVER let me down.
I downloaded a new file and now it works very well with my F30 and showed the error codes associated with an electric fan malfunction that the dealer was denying!

Great investment if you are getting the JB.

300 bucks!? Is there a cheaper solution, something that'll just clear the codes.
