I know we can order it here in Germany through the military sales program. Typically the program mirrors what is available through BMWNA. For example we can't get the M Sport brakes and we don't get fog lights with M Sport.

I don't expect a perfect seat, but this was stretched within minutes of me sitting on it. A boney bonny bum maybe, but the passenger side does not stretch like this and remains totally intact. I WILL get it fixed.

I guess F30AM's point is that he wants to be the one that stretches them, not someone else. No doubt even a new seat base will look the same after 1000 miles.
And that's my point. Look at the latest picture I've posted. The leather is overstretched beyond its years.

That's a good sign. Not yet available through US dealers.

Really feel for ya, at that rate your seat's gonna look like a bean-bag before long!

This is my seat after a 20 minute drive this morning and I've got 8K on the clock now. Average speed on computer says 38.7mph and haven't reset this since I got the car, so I reckon it's taken me a little over 200 hours to get the seat looking like that.

Been working and driving I've got some healthy time off now for a few days so I'm gonna do a nice write-up for folks with the good, the bad and the ugly after 1500 miles

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of you for the pictures. I've now got more than enough to strengthen my case.

I've written to them. Let's wait and see what transpires. Could be interesting.

You are all great.

The problem is that they have not stretched the leather equally on both sides of the central seam or there is a generic fault in this particular bit of the hide. Plus, the foam beneath might also not have the same packing effect on either side of the seam. Either, any or both ways, it's faulty.

The leather they use is pretty thick and unyielding. I can sort of understand why it is so difficult to stretch proportionately on either side of the central seam. Anyway, they've stitched it longitudinally which is wrong. It should have been stitched across so that the leather has a smaller footprint and would show less deformation when a posterior, especially a bony one like mine, rests on it.

Your seat does look as if one leather panel is either not fitted with the same tension, or there is a fault in the hide.

Even with the way the seat is designed, your leather is not right, the inner panel is stetched way more than the outside one, from how I see it. More likely to be the leather than the base I'd imagine.

Certainly not the quality we'd expect from BMW. Dealer ought to be on your side, without question.

Thanks Pete.

Quick question: How do I know I've got Adaptive M Sport suspension? There's no separate button for this. All I see is Sport+, Sport, Comfort and Eco Pro on the screen between the Rev and Speedo counters when I play with the Drive Performance toggle.

You'll see a cable coming from the shock I believe? Also you could input the last 7 characters of your VIN into eg bmwvin.com to check the spec
