OP - did you cover the part behind (inside) the grill before applying the plasti dip? Also, did you spray extra layers onto the chrome edges?

I tried this route before I got my m perf grills. Works good but it was just too matte black for me, I even used glosser and it still wasn't the result I wanted. I took the grills off the car though I thought it was easier and didn't want to gunk up the radiator.

I think I want to plasti dip my rims though.

Yeah, the gloss look definitely better. The OEM M performance grille isn't really expensive, it's like $50 a piece if you get it from tisher and I got mine from a dealer for about $60 each.

Looks great on my imperial blue and takes the old man look away from the luxury line lol

Did you take them out before spraying them with plasti dip? or can you do it while they're attached to the car?

no its not.i tried plastidip.it looks like an SE model LINe.so bought this perf grill,looks 100x better.
