Really feel for you mate. Must be gutting Particularly being a new car. I don't get why they didn't pick this up pre delivery.

I must admit to being surprised by some of the stuff I've read lately . I've always been a bit of an advocate of bmw having owned them in the past but I'm concerned by what I've been reading lately and wonder if their standards seem to have slipped.

Can anyone help - my i-pod and my wifes i-phones music doesn't come out of the left speakers ?

Yes, you should be wary. You know what, I wish I had waited and got a Golf Mk7 GTI. Never again will I stray. At least I am glad I still have my trusted Mk6 Golf GTI. It is a gem.

Heh, we seem to be of a similar mind. To me the F30 looks superb and I was quite set on getting one. These issues are giving me some doubts now however and may push back in the direction of another GTI.

I have to say I really like the look of the mk7.

What are you planning to do your mk 6 are you running it alongside your new car?

I can't let go of my Mk6 GTI as I love it so! It does feel very low rent compared to the BMW. But it has got under my skin. It's has had it's fair share of build problems: 4 badly hung doors, mis-aligned bonnet, deformed rear bumper, shocking paint thickness or lack of, split stitching on driver's seat, driver's seat base then coming loose, underbonnet sound proofing fell onto the engine, rear offside window trim curled upwards ........

So the BMW is very much better than the GTI in the quality stakes. You can see it and feel it. Yes, it is a much better car. However, it is not that easy to use in town. But I'll get used to it.

How are you connecting them mate? Apple supplied white cable?

I am using a black Y cable from my last BMW E60.

I didn't mean to post the RTFM icon there sorry! Not sure what happened.

Try the normal apple white USB cable. I'm not sure what purpose/benefit the Y cable has now. I too used to use one in my E92 but in the newer F11 I had and now the F30 I've just used the apple USB cable which works fine.

BTW - car is exceeding my expectations more and more every time I drive it.

What do you mean by the seat base collapsed? Do you have electric seats?

Is it drivable? I'd be a little annoyed if I'd just picked up my car after waiting so long to not be able to drive it!

Mine has 3700 miles on the clock now and the seats don't look like that..

Just what I thought. 2 days old and a seat base like that? Bad. Warranty Issue. Spoke with dealer and they were most apologetic and will sort it. Also, the second key fob has been wiped clean (de-magnetised) and needs to be re-configured. Booked-in for this on Friday.

All very inconvenient.

Are you sure dealer didn't give you one key for a different car? keyfob wiped clean seems quite odd. Are you sure both keys worked before you left dealer?

I am sure of nothing except one works and the other does not. They were together in a tag when the car was delivered.

My guess is if you walk their lot with the "dead" key you'll unlock another car. Are both blue accent keys? If so look for other MSports on lot.

I have no time to traipse to the dealer. I've spent enough time on this blooming car. The mountain will have to come to Mohammed.

Yes, they are both blue accent keys. I am not that daft to have accepted any other! Probably been too daft, as I bought a BMW.

I am pretty peeved off at present.
