Evolution Racewerks F30 328i Intake
I posted a video thread the other day and got a couple PM's/posts asking if I could post pics. Keep in mind this is a prototype intake, so the final product may look slightly different! I decided to post pics (and paste the review) here instead of the photo section as the only ones really interested in this part would be 328i owners. Please excuse the dusty bay
You can see the video below or in the original thread here.Quote:

It certainly looks simple enough. Is that a K&N or similar oiled filter? If it is, I'd prefer a paper filter, probably easy enough to find one that fits. Is that an IAT sensor? Too many wires. It doesn't look like a MAF, but I guess it could be. Whatever it is, I assume it's a simple bolt-on transfer from the stock intake.
TIA, and thank you for posting the pics!

Oh the intake is a direct replacement with the OEM. Filter can easily be changed to any brand desired, you just need the correct dimensions. Wiring looks a little messy but that would be due to the BMS Stage 1 tune I have plugged in. The plug going into the intake tube is indeed the MAF.

I believe Msport has the same intake system as regular 328i, should work. Not 100% sure though, I would see what others say.
Joshhleee - Definitely is N26 compatible, those pics are on an N26 car ![]()

Here is a brief part of the write-up from European Car Magazine detailing the ER intake. This was the 3rd of three mods being installed, BMS Stage 1, ER Downpipe, and ER Intake. Read more here -> http://www.europeancarweb.com/tech/e...2012_bmw_328i/ Basically, no real gains, technically -1 HP on dyno and +3tq but these numbers are so close, I would say negligible. Does seem to help smooth the torque curve up top though.

Just installed the intake on my N26. Overall pretty unimpressed
My experience: slightly messy install. Fit and finish could be better. Welds aren't the cleanest and although mine came packaged well, my pipe had scratches on it. Pieces of it even have alight dents like scrap metal. Overall, very cheap looking and feeling. Design could be a bit more effective too using available engine bay space. I'm also getting a system too lean CEL no matter how snug I fit the piping. Since I don't notice any real performance improvement other than a louder diverter valve, I'm wishing I never wasted my money.... |

So far I only like the AFE intake and not at $400+. **********s had them for $270 on Black Friday. That, or $200-225 used is all it's worth to me as I assume it to only be for sound.

I too am a fan of the aFe system, I think it's a more refined intake system than ER but considering no substantive gains are to be had either way, I prefer the louder, simpler ER. I do want the aFe scoop though! I think there was an aFe N26 getting lean code as well, so it could be hit or miss on many cars, rather than particular intake system.
