How long does it take for SA built vehicle to be transported to port? - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

My 2013 335i Sedan xDrive has been built in South Africa and now waiting to be released to carrier.

Order timeline:
- Ordered 11/23/2012
- Scheduled for production 11/24/2012
- Production started 11/29/2012
- Production complete 12/06/2012

What has been your experience ...

- Time from Rosslyn factory to port (Durban?)
- Time at the port waiting for the ship?

Based on my experience so far, you probably have another 2 months waiting. You probably have at least a week or two before it gets on the boat and the boat leaves, then about 45 days of shipping time.

I'm pretty much same boat as you except I ordered mine a few weeks earlier.

Production Started 11/12/12
Production Date 11/22/12
Dispatched to AG 11/26 - not sure what this means but this is my last update...

Update on my vehicle as of 12/6/2012:

- Now in Status 182: Handover to carrier / load assignment

The next two status codes, 190 - Dispatched from AG and 191 - Returned from AG, are a mystery. Does anyone know what these code mean?

My vehicle is now "in transit to the port of exit".

Does anyone know the official source of information about ships leaving South Africa, departure dates, planned routes?

Dock in CA 11/28
Expected delivery 12/4 (delayed)

My SA said I will pick it up tomorrow or Thursday (fingers crossed)
