If you look up at the interior lighting controls in the roof lining, you'll see 2 small LEDs - these change from white (sport) to orange (classic) depending on which setting you've selected. Casts a barely visible light into the cabin during darkness.

Just been out for a play. Turned everything up to max in lighting settings and on instrument cluster and shazam, doors cards light up, led's by interior lights create quite a glow! Looking forward to my next night journey!

Other than the normal light setting adjustments in idrive and on the dash, is there another way (maybe dealer adjustment) to increase the brightness (door cards mainly) of the ambient lighting? In sport it's hardly noticeable at all

Classic is red, sport is white. Pretty massive difference, I'd say
And if you turn the brightness up to maximum in iDrive, it's still pretty subtle but then it's supposed to be. It's just ambient light after all I have it set to red and max intensity and it's really good on the motorway.

This is the interior ambiant lighting which bathes the door handle area and the cup holders in a red glow. The main interior lights need to be off to see the effect. Sport is white light, classic changes it to red....which is my preference ![]()

The lighting in the door card. There is an LED strip the tuns the length of the trim above the door handle on each door. Also two lights in the roof where the light and sunroof ( if you have one) controls are. I can barely see the red with everything up to max and the white, well you may as well not bother.

There's an image on the BMW website showing ambient lighting in a 3 series coupe. Looks much brighter than mine. I've turned everything up. There must be a way to adjust this at the dealership, Or with help of bmw assist

Mine is looking really good now, quite bright in fact, there is a small dial next to the lighting switch R/H side, I turned this right up, it makes a difference.
