There isn't a general "this is what I think" thread... but I wanted to point a few things out since I just rolled past 400 miles.

• EBII...
• Dat front end...
• Dat burble gurgle.... (this is my first car with a sporty exhaust)
• The car drives fantastic. It's almost too easy to go fast. Where I had to push my E46, this car simply yawns and gets the job done.
• There is so much grunt down low, it's nice to have a car that doesn't bog down when below 2000rpms.
• Love the split personality between Comfort and Sport. Comfort is perfect for when I have people in the car. Sport is perfect for everything else...
• Didn't realize the car would have turning headlights; these were a nice surprise as I didn't think they'd be as useful as they are
• The clutch sucks. My E46's clutch built up pressure right to the engage point... this car's clutch is just mushy.
• How do I turn hill assist off? It is... awkward in a stick shift to say the least
• My M-Perf brakes squeal slightly at slower speeds.
• The shifter feel is delicious. Notchy, tight, heavy but not too heavy.
• Heated steering wheel could be a bit hotter
• Poor ergonomics on the heated steering wheel button and auto-wiper button
• The mirrors should really default auto-fold, I always forget the button is there...
• Can I set Sport mode to be the default? I'll want that after I get out of break-in.

* Hill assist can be turned off by coding, but I think it has its uses. (I'd have to lose limbs before driving AT)
* You can't turn the wipers 'on' by default as too many people would forget to turn them 'off' in a carwash (read as "dumb rednecks would sue)
* the mirrors can be coded to fold with your key from a distance.
* Default sport mode is the holy grail, many coders died trying to grasp it

Alpine white was my second choice... with cinnamon interior

I meant "grunt, down low" as in it has plenty of power in the lower RPM range. In my E46 325, if I came out of a turn in 3rd at 1500rpm the car would just bog down.

You drive a stick and you come out of a turn at 1500rpms in third? i dont think any other gears see that low of rpms other than first ever - might as well coast in neutral. I dont even think autos do that. Lol.

Apparently he hasn't driven a 2010+ E9x. My E90 MSport has nearly NO brake dust. I can go two weeks between cleanings. And the brakes bite just fine.

You can play it down all you want, but its a huge difference.

Two weeks and the wheels have a light cover of dust. Not black soot covering them and from a distance the wheels still look silver. I don't go beyond 2 weeks because I like a clean car.

And after 3 years the interior of the wheel (part you don't bother cleaning) still shows silver. I clean mine about once every 3-4 months just to shine them up.

I can tell you from my E46 and E36 M3 that this E90 brake situation is a huge plus for me. Not having to deal with constantly black wheels.

The E46 is like two hours. Not even kidding. I went about two months without cleaning mine once and someone asked me why I painted my front wheels black but my rear ones a dark gray.

And the big issue with brake dust not cleaned for 2 months is the small particles begin to stick to the wheel paint and can be difficult to remove. You see it all the time with cars that have black dots all over the flat surfaces.

I suppose wheel wax is a must for the F30 MSports. The 403M 19" wheels will hide a bit of the dust since it has gray interior, but they'll still need to be cleaned regularly or will look horrible after a year or so. I'm hoping wheel wax will allow in between cleanings to be simple.

Luckily it didn't do that. Although that does explain the dots on my mom's car.

My 135i with the Brembo brakes spewed as much dust as my 335i Msport. BMW says Msports have different pads compared to sport line and the other lines.
They are said to be "more aggressive". I think that means, MORE dust.
I wish BMW would have tuned Msport brakes to have better feel on initial engagement.
My 135i and E46 325i had much better brake pedal feel with less pedal travel to initial bite, and less travel under brake modulation.
The brakes are good, they get the job done, but the overall feel has become less "sport" like and more "sedan" like.

Maybe, but the 2010 MSports (and I think the 2011-2013 E9x MSports) have low dust pads.

Checking Realoem, it looks like BMW used the same brake setup on all 335i E9x cars.
