Arrow REMUS QUAD EXHAUST on F30 328i

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys I'm FrankiE90 from E90post.
Wanted to introduce myself to those of you that don't know me.

hello.

this is not my F30.
but I was in the neighborhood when this
exhaust was installed at Long Tran's.
Pulled the camera out took some photos and shot a sound clip.
A spanking brand new AW Msport F30 FTW!

Install was straight forward, fitment is great. The tips are clean -
overall a very classy mod for the F30.
You can easily put back ur stock exhaust if needed.

BEFORE PICT - looks brand new to me.

I have to say the MSPORT on the f30 looks excellent.
for those of you that don't have msport - i have to say

Holy embarrassingly fake exhaust, Batman!

So that's one tip for each cylinder? Classy.

I installed AC Schnitzer (Remus) on 3 BMW's before. And they've all been equal weight or heavier than stock.

I think it looks great... BUT I'm having a hard time justifying quads on a 335 so quads on a 328 is a little much... IMO.... but looks good!

Debadge it and you're in business.

Am I the only one that thinks the owner should have just bought a 335i in the first place.

I mean, I'm sinking cash into a 335i M-Sport with M-Performance parts and being to think, I should just save another 12 months and buy a real new gen M3. If I was my own buddy or coworker, I'd start calling my rig a faux-M.

Gets to a point where it's a bit silly.

That said, it looks great and when the camera was very close to the pipes, sounded great.

Geez, I don't understand some of the comments in this thread. I've had cars with quads and some owners would change those to single exhausts. They weren't trying to fake anything. Its all about finding an aftermarket option that you like and that's why there are different styles for different people.

I for one like the sound of this exhaust and could care less if its single, dual, or quad exit.

For me it comes down to form over function. If a car has a reason to have split, two path exhaust, like say a v-engine, it makes sense. But when cars that have a single center pipe, like 4 cylinders or I6's, it's just added weight and complexity for style's sake.

I had an M Coupe, with all four stupid exhaust tips. I debated a single sided exhaust, but ultimately didn't care enough to address it. Over stylized exhaust is just a personal pet peeve, if others like it, that's great. It just reminds me of mid-80's GM with six or eight fake exhaust tips on many cars. Of course the recent BMW trend of putting a transverse can with multiple tips on both sides is similarly annoying.

I think it's simply something aesthetic and improve the sound.
A symmetrical exhaust tip is prettier than only on one side. It's as if there were only headlights on one side of the front.... : D

I like the look but would never buy this. Maybe if all 4 tips were functional... too much faking the funk for me.

it was trimmed -
there's a technique to trim'n.

I hear what you're saying. i believe that 4th tip is a dead tip.
tring to remember - it maybe funnel'n through the 3rd tip.
it's safe to say this is a cosmetic mod with minimal benefits to
performance.

if the owner install'd an M3 badge - that would fake the funk, imo.
The stock dual tips need'd an upgrade, having an msport rear,
and the owner decided to go with quads. I give him credit for
mod'n.

these quads have touch a nerve for you.
I have the same experience but with pony tails - chicks with 2 pony tails
drive me nuts. single pony tails i'm fine with. must of been in my
childhood, waiting in the lunch line, being bullied at age 8.

but seriously
i'm waiting for the 4banger to be really tuned.
Big single turbo upgrade, catless downpipe, single 3" straight pipe with dual 4" tip, and loud on the track.

BMW enthusiasm on all different levels, mods will be done
by influence and comments can contribute to acceptability, personally
preferences should hold to one's own and that's respectable.

comment on guys - i remember the earlier e90 years, this is rehashing
alot of arguments and preferences.

I don't dislike it, part of me likes it aesthetically, part of me hates it from an engineering and functional viewpoint. I just wouldn't want it on my own car, but I really don't care if it's on someone else's car. I also personally dislike the E90 and F30 335i exhaust, but sleep okay at night knowing they're out there.

I've also had a Z3 M Coupe, a 135i and an X1, more people hate those than will ever hate the exhaust on either a stock 335i or a modified 328i, I'm sure.

Don't get me wrong, I can appreciate wanting to enhance the appearance of a car and the stock exhaust definitely needs an upgrade. I don't dislike the fact that it has 4 tips.. I can handle that. It's more that the 4th tip clearly isn't functional and they didn't even make the effort to give it it's own piping. Design fail in my opinion and hence the faking the funk comment.

With all that said, I still like the fully installed appearance.
