Thats how it should be, my dealer promised NO VAT increase if car arrived after december 2011 I think that was the year, anyway car arrived end Jan and still paid the lower rate so well pleased.

That's really good mate. To be fair Park Lane have been really understanding and do put across a sense of urgency for me which is nice.

I get updated every Monday so will post again on Monday with what they say. Last update I had in writing from them this week was 'production to start first week of December for delivery in the last week of December'.

We will see

My Week 44 car - October 29, 2012 to November 4, 2012 - It's somewhere.

My Week 48 car - November 26, 2012 to December 2, 2012 - It's somewhere beyond the rainbow.

We are in Week 46 now - November 12, 2012 to November 18, 2012.

I have a feeling that the delivery of Week 44 car will coincide with the birth of the Week 48 car.

How quaint!!

Which means the Week 48 car will probably be with me Week 52 which spans December 24, 2012 to December 30, 2012. So I can probably have it on 27, 28, or 29 December when I'll be out of the country!!

What fun!!

Hi all, I'm a newbie on here.

Have ordered a F31 MSport 320D on 05/11/2012 and was told the same tale about the finance so glad to see it wasn't just me.

First time I've ever had a new car on order straight away so never even thought to ask about a build week

They could have planned things a bit better. Typical.

Now if the weather turns for the worse, which is more than likely, and snow flakes descend, there will be even longer delays. What fun and games!

My car was in production within a week after I ordered. It was 'Assembly Complete', 7 days later but it stayed in that same state for nearly 3 weeks. Last Friday it changed to 'Released to Carrier' so I hope it's on the way.

Interesting point, my dealer claims the central BMW UK sales have told him of a 4-6 week delay with cars ordered with the hexagon trim. Since I ordered brushed aluminium, he wasn't sure why my car was delayed.

I also ordered brushed aluminium on the interior, chasing up my dealer tomorrow, I will post an update on my progress.

Mine is also brushed alu (coming with gloss black line, but dealer is fitting Matt coral red line to match my coral seats; annoyingly not available from factory on M Sport)! I ordered mine (330d M Sport) last Wednesday, and they said delivery should be by end of December. I thought it was a bit of a white lie to be honest (or optimistic at best); but after you guys saying production has been so quick, there may be hope yet!

The horrors I have read about cars from SA being shipped to Asia which turn up with rust... I am glad ours are from Germany..the land of perfection, efficiency and attention to detail..
