when i am flooring the car and when i let of the gas around 6k rpm the engine kind of sounds weird as if the sound is coming out of speakers and it gets distorted? have you experienced this??? thanks

its not the turbo, few times when i was talking on Bluetooth i also heard it through the speakers the sound of the engine but little distorted

I mean if its coming from the speaker area, I would say no. The only time I can hear the turbo or the blow off valve is when my driver window is down and the car is in low gear and when you get on it a little .

BMW has tuned speakers that make the car sound louder than it is. Have you ever seen an option called Speed Volume!! i heard that wat it controls

I have but I thought its for how fast the volume changes when we press + or -

Nope... I did a test all my windows closed no AC on and i put it to the lowest and drove and it was still loud but then putting it up all the way you do hear theres a difference, BMW tuned it so you could never know but i guess you have a fantastic ear

hey I just read somewhere else that this feature is used to automatically increase the volume of the radio as speed increases

From an article: Many of today's modern BMW's contain an adjustment within the radio that allows the user to adjust the speed sensitive volume of the audio system.

Here's what that means:
As the vehicle RPM's increase, the radio automatically does two things:
Increases the volume of the radio
Decreases the low-end frequency response in order to minimize distortion at higher volumes
This is done by BMW to preserve the audio system and to minimize the likelihood that a speaker will become damaged or an amplifier channel will go bad. But, since you're a responsible, BSW listener now, this isn't going to be an issue in your BMW.
So, to learn how you turn the speed sensitive volume essentially "off" in your BMW, see the attached BMW file. You're going to enter the radio service mode, and scroll through the options until you see "speed volume". Adjust this to "1". This is the minimal setting and ensures that the least amount of equalization will occur to your music.


But i know fo sure it has sort of a synthetic add in rev!

This. My E46 has the feature as well. As I hit 40mph, the volume gets a boost to combat wind noise.
