255 square setup?
Anybody have experience with a 255 square setup on the F30?
I'm thinking mounted on 8.5" ET 35 - should be 7mm less on the inside and stick out 5mm more on the outside for the front tire Welcome comments on the fit - as well as handling impact at the limit |

More curious ... why would you want to do this??? To be able to rotate them I pressume? Might look a bit weird (as fronts will stick out significantly farther out than your rears). You'll have a "staggered" look, but a backwards one lol...

As to "sticking out" - an 8.5 ET35 only sticks out 5mm further than the stock front 8 In the rear an 8.5 ET35 would stick out 12mm further than the stock staggered 8.5 ET47 - so basically the inverse of what you're saying - the rears would stick out further than the fronts |

For the rear if you are going to do a 8.5 et 35 maybe throw a spacer in there to balance it out. You can easily put a 12mm spacer in the rear with a touch of camber. Again I know this because of my current setup. Before you ask I know the offsets on my setup but I can't post them yet do to a sponsorship agreement. They have to post first. Good luck. Might I suggest some volks. A square TE37 setup would be ! |

225 to 255 isn't really enough tire to make a difference to me although I would love to compare the exact same tire back to back with only the size being different. I've done it before and wider isn't always beneficial to your lap time although it is usually beneficial to overall g's. |

If I could sneak a 9" rim on the front I could push up to 275 on all corners - I just don't want to make it dynamically worse chasing width

Turner raced their M3 GS car with 275's all around this last season but I would imagine that car has some work to keep the geometry where they want it. The rolling resistance while greatly increased would also be somewhat negated by the massive negative camber. Prodrive made the P2 with only 235/235's and it was one of the fastest cars on top gear. Ferrari built the 458 with only 235/295 while they could have gone larger. I believe the GT car runs with something in the 275/335 area. |

Can you do a 40mm et on 10" out back?
I personally think 8.5 up front and 9.5 out back is more than enough...we're not laying down THAT much power. Yet.

I'm putting together a set of track wheels with this configuration
18x8.5 ET37 running 255/40 should have them mounted up in a week or so. I'll check back with my results and some pics

245/40 should work fine with a 19x9. I'm running 245/35 on my 19x8.5 ET36 and I kinda wish i had gone 245/40

I've got a 335i Msport with staggered OEM 18's.
Would going to 245/40/18 on the stock front wheel work? Is the front wheel not wide enough for a 245 and cause the tire to "pinch"? According to TireRack, the Conti tire specs I'm looking at show that a 245/40 would fit an 8" to 9.5" wheel width. The 335i front OEM wheel is 8" wide. Info and/or experience would be helpful and appreciated. Thanks. ![]() |

I've got the stock 18" sport square rims (style 397 8" front and back) - maybe I'll just try shoeing them with 245/40 non-run-flat rubber and see how that goes Might buy you some rim protection from scuffing as well

There are 235/45/18, which is 26.3", OEM is 26". The 245/40, I think, is 25.7". I think I'll try the 235/45 that will fit just fine on the stock wheel. BTW, I thought the rears on a stock staggered setup were 9" no? |
