Acceleration from highway to interstate speed - BMW 3-Series Forum (F30 / F32)

Hey guys I was looking around and I didn't see anything about this figure. So I was wondering if anyone can tell me how quickly the 335 accelerates from 40- 70. Which in my opinion is just as important as that 0-60 number thanks in advance!

Haven't had a stopwatch on me but the 335i is pretty darned fast!

No stop watch either, but I am very happy with the 40-60 and 60-80 speed also. I also like how you can be cruising in 5th getting decent mpg and still have power to pull away if you need it.

(just to add to "darned fast" and "almost too quick"). Sorry OP, know these hyperbolic phrases don't really help, but even I would love to get this info from some reliable source.

However, here is some related info:

The F30 328i does the 40-70 in 4.5 s as per motortrend

The E90 with N54 motor did a 0-60 in 5.1s (which is close to the F30 N55) and a 40-70 in 3.9s (source). I would take a guess that the new 335i does a 40-70 very close to that figure (somewhere between 3.8 to 4 seconds)
