Knowing oem's, they will have stopped ordering the old model, but using up stock. If stock runs out before week 45, then the implementation date will be sooner. For sure all cars built wk45 onwards will be new Nav. You might be lucky with a wk43

They're not "running out" though because NA markets aren't getting the new NAV until well into next year so there's tonnes of stock of the current NAV left

Hmmmm, I would be absolutely amazed if the part numbers for Europe NAV and US NAV were the same. I know from Mercedes that the US COMAND system is not the same as Europe spec. The tuners are different, TMC works differently, US system is designed for Sirius, etc etc. so too many hard ware differences for it to classed the same number.

Agreed totally different systems, it looks like week 45 on for the saloon cars, thats what my source tells me anyway.

That's pretty consistent information. I don't think anyone's been told "you may get the NAV early if you're lucky" by their dealer

Not a clever strategy by any dealer.....setting themselves up for a headache if it doesn't materialise. Time will tell.

Anyway to follow on from one of your posts the following conversation is not going to happen:

I wonder... if my MY12 Pro Nav unit just happened to fail under warranty, would they replace it with a new one (assuming they're plug'n'play compatible)?

MY 330D M Sport in EBII beige leather in production today, should arrive in 4 weeks they say I have the F31 328i Touring as a loaner and it drives nice.

Hope yours is kept to the promised timeframe. I ordered mine in July, and it was due 1st October, delivery expected 23rd october. My dealer advised that there had been issues with the 19" wheels, resulting in all orders [with those wheels] being subject to 3 week delay.
Almost there now so relatively chilled, just hope it doesn't get delayed any further!

I dropped off some paperwork at the dealer today (stayed a little longer as I had a play with both new and older 609 nav systems ), anyway the sales guy said almost all M Sports ordered through them opted for 19" M403's, so guessing demand has probably caught them out a little.

I finally got a long(ish) test drive in a 320d MSport today.
I was amazed how nimble and 'light' (in a good way) it felt.
It was a manual with standard suspension 18" wheels EB/Black

I imagine I could happily live with one but I think I will join you Folks waiting for a 330d

My first test drive was in a 320d Lux model with the 8 speed auto and it felt very nimble and responsive, we had a 20 minute test drive and on an A road I touched 90 without even realizing! its hard to believe its just a 2 litre diesel..BMW are years ahead with their technology! Then I test drove the 535D M Sport also with the 8 speed auto and it was absolutely amazing! It was hard to justify the 5 series though so I went for the 330d.. I am yet to drive an F30 330d and can't wait to get my hands on my one!!

I have just paid the deposit for a 330d Msport. Initial delivery date is 30/12/12 however the dealer thinks this will come down to about 8 weeks.

I have ordered amongst other things the Professional Media pack, presumably I will definitely get the latest version of the Nav as my order will be a custom build?

Custom build has nothing to do with getting a newer version of something - its all down to build date.

Last I heard F30's were getting the New Nav from late Nov. So if your car going into build BEFORE end of Nov, you might get the "old" Nav. If later than late Nov, then you will get the New Nav.

If you order an F31 (Touring) - makes no diff when your build date is - all the Tourings are getting the new Nav.

Simples. Init.

For the F30 I believe as long as the build date is after week 45 you should get the new NAV..

We are only 3 weeks away from the switch over, so doubt any new orders will be made within old spec window?!?!!?
