So although my new f30 335i is still in the break in period, I pushed it pretty hard today (for about 3 seconds!) from about 30 mph to 65 mph. I did not cross 4500rpm but the car was still flying. Almost Literally.
What I noticed during the very rapid straight-line acceleration is that the car seemed to sway a wee bit side ways as if it was losing grip.

I'm currently running the OEM Pirelli pzero cinturato which I know are All Season Grand Touring tires.

My question is would changing out to Hankook's Summer Max Performance Ventus V12 Evo help with grip during hard acceleration and also with better braking in dry conditions?

The reason I doubt that is because the Hankooks are very cheap and not that big a brand as Pirelli.

are you running 17" or 18" pirellis cinturato? I have the 18" sport wheels, mine are P7s not all seasons.

it's a typical RFT tire.
my OEM goodyear RFT have the worse grip ever, it jumps on cornering & harsh on pot holes.
try switch to non-RFT & u will notice the difference.

I will second the V12's abilities. I've had them on a couple of cars but not this one yet. For one of my cars, $800 for the set was almost too good to be true but I tried them for cheap street tires and they were amazing. I used them at the track a couple of times and the lap times were about 2 seconds slower than pirelli corsa system's (pirelli's dot r tire, $2800/set) and 4 seconds slower than hoosier r6's which in general is spectacular for the price.

I have the goodyear rft's and they shredded pretty hard the first time on the track and the feedback was horrible but I think that is mostly the rft sidewall being so stiff.

I have had as many Hankook as I have had Pirelli. Pirellis were always on the car when I bought it and Hankooks were typically what I bought myself when replacing. Always extremely happy with Hankook. My Pirellis were great but wear on them, very quick to wear out.

I have the cinturato on mine now and will be switching to the Ventus V12 by Wednesday, albeit on 19" rims instead of 17". I'll post something with the differences, though, I had the V12's on my 370z a while back and they were sublime.

I have had experience with hankook evo v12 for about a year and half and can firmly say the handling is not that much better than an all season like contiprocontact or pirelli cinurato
The evo v12 should not even be listed as a performance summer tire.
Dont get me wrong they work fine for a somewhat performance tire, but as far as a big upgrade you cant expect much.
Get a bridgestone re050 or michellin pilot sport if you are looking for a difference you will be able to see.

I disagree with this comment wholeheartedly.

The Evo V12's are a significant upgrade over any all season tire. I've used them on several of my personal vehicles and for the money, you can't beat them.

While there are better options out there, there really isn't one option that satisfies Price, Performance and tread wear like the Evo's do.

I had the evo v12s on a 2009 Volkswagen cc 2 years ago replacing its oem contiprocontacts and it wasnt all that much better. But I just replaced the oem michellins mxm4 on my 2012 328i with bridgestone re050 and its a night and day different.
The evo v12 is a decent tire if you want to keep things cheap and get somewhat performance, but its nowhere near what a full performance summer tire can handle.

I am running the the Hankook V12's right now and its a lot more grip than the Pirelli's that the car came with. Its a lot easier to loose traction shifting into 2nd with the pirelli's. I feel more confident in corners as well.

To the OP, you are runniing P7 AS, not PZeros, right?

I am running staggered 20" P zeros now and they hook up like crazy when I need them too (but potholes are an issue, just like any other low profile tire, this is life).

I am going to the square P7 AS set up for the winter at the end of October, but all indications are I will not be getting set of P7s when the ones I have wear out. We shall see.

I've got V12's on my E46 and they are indeed the best tire for the money!
