Need Detailing Advice
Hey guys,
I have always detailed my car without taping up the rubber as I usually work by hand... Is taping necessary when applying the cleaner fluid or polishes? I'm thinking they wont damage rubber, headlamps and the grills plates. Is there any recommendation for maintaining the chrome grills for the Beemers.. |

You know there are subject specific boards right? In the Technical Forums, there a specific "Cosmetic Maintenance: Wash, Wax, Detailing, Repairs" forum. You might want to find your answers or post there instead.

Polishes can mar or damage the rubber. Some waxes and sealants will cause staining or marks on black trim or rubber.
Also, taping helps prevent it from getting in crevices. If you're polishing by machine, then definitely tape. By hand, if you're careful, you can probably get away with it. It's also depends on how OCD inflicted you are ![]() Last edited by bananachipz; 09-25-2012 at 06:06 PM. |
