I am not sure formatting will work. I believe the software component regarding mp3 player functionality is not robust enough and consumes much of the resources and crashes occasionally, but I am not sure about that. Slowdown of iDrive response during mp3 play makes this hypothesis stronger.

A software release will fix this issue occasionally, but I don't know when this will happen. Furthermore, I believe mp3 functionality (sorting of files, display of ID3 options, display of album art, etc.) has huge shortcomings, which also needs to be improved.

You should set the language to english. It is a fault when you set the language to Turkish.

Four issues so far with 4900 miles with delivery back in February. Somewhat frustrated with the car so far.

The first issue was the ASS stalling that was resolved with the software update. Second issue was the steering wheel stitching coming apart. Dealer had to replace the wheel. The third was the right turn lamp malfunction warning that came on when the car is started and persisted on and off. Had to take the car in twice to get it fixed. The dealer finally replaced the bulb and hasn't happened since. And the fourth issue was Lighting system malfunction which meant that I had no rear lighting at all including brake lights, turn lamps, and night time driving lamps and the trunk was unable to open. The dealer apparently plugged the system in and rebooted the car and the error code went away. Overall the car has been much more problematic than the my E92 which makes me wonder about the build quality of the new BMWs.

I've noticed that when I change to 6th gear (6MT) the steering wheel starts to vibrate ever so slightly at around 70 or 80 MPH. Could it be tires are out of balance? I know this shouldn't happen cause my buddies E92 steering wheel feels smooth as glass at ALL speeds. Also, looks like my trunk lid left tail light was not properly installed. It's somehow coming undone, not hanging or anything, but one side of its seems to be very loose. Just got her a week ago, taking her back to get her checked out.

As cliche as it sounds, don't purchase the first year of a new model.. It doesn't matter how many tests an auto manufacturer conducts or how advanced technology is, it's still not as real life as thousands of people purchasing them and driving them on a daily basis.

I'm having trouble with my non-enhanced bluetooth. Haven't taken it in yet, haven't seen anyone post a similar problem after searching the forums.

My phone (Motorola Droid 3, Android 2.3) connects to the car's bluetooth every time I get in the car. Everything seems to be working fine as I can make and receive calls (call quality is great!). However, if I'm on a long (5+ minutes) call, the car "drops" the call, which is still active on my phone. I can't seem to do anything to make the phone reconnect to the car. I tried disabling and enabling the bluetooth, didn't help. Reboot the phone, didn't help. Restart the car, bluetooth reconnects. Anyone seen something like that?

You have a 2013 model and an M Sport Package, I thought BMW would've fixed everything by now?

They're really losing it. Dont know what's wrong with them all of a sudden...

The problem I'm currently having is the wiper blades are not functioning properly... Went to BMW to get it fixed. They replaced the wiper blades and it worked fine for about a day, and now they are not working correctly again.!

I have wheel vibration and they say it's normal, vibration really gets bad at 70 or 80mph, you can still feel it at lower or higher speeds, I even bought the 650i wheels and new continental tires and that was worst! Also, rattle noises coming from the dashboard which they say it's normal... it really is annoying. I wouldn't complain if at least the would fix it!

Really, test drive the car, and even then, you don't know what you will be getting yourself into...

So what have you done with your car?

Do you still drive it? I'm sure you can launch a serious complaint if the dealership is not helping out.

I don't know if anybody has this issue. My night time running lights are on in the morning although the sun is out. During the afternoon, the daytime works fine, but somehow in the morning the night time running lights are on.
Dont know if this is a sensor problem.

Your phone may not be compatible with the iDrive in the 3 series.
Not all phones are compatible with our cars. And it varies by model. But what you describe sounds exactly like that.

Had one malfunction and one complaint.

Malfunction: At 2000 miles, got a message to add 1 QT of oil. Was on the road, so I added the oil. About 15 minutes later, I got the same message so I added another QT of oil. There was no leaks and the oil level was 100%. Turned out to be the oil sensor.

Complaint: A tall cup will touch the dash and rub against it removing the finish. Tried even some medium cups with the same problem. Cup holders needs to be moved back a half inch or so.

Other that that, love the car. My wife is getting 42 MPG.

This is why you should probably defer on buying the first year of any new model, as a rule of thumb. The 2014 should be relatively problem free. In addition, it will probably have a few more gadgets or options etc then the 13', after they get back the customer feedback surveys etc.

Same problem here, for me it happens on a specific section of road on my morning and evening commute. It seems to happen when the sun is bright in the sky against a cloudless sky. I think the manual describes a situation similar to this where the sensor gets confused.

It's annoying, but a minor inconvenience. It's funny as I see all the other car on the road with their DRL's on, but all the other BMW's with their low beams on during a bright sunny morning/evening.

Interestingly enough, it was a little overcast this morning and the low beams stayed off
