Who knows? Maybe yes, maybe no. Is there a shortage of 430s, like the purported shortage of N20 a few months ago?

When it's ready, it's ready. That's my new motto when it comes to my F30 order. Still, I will check at least weekly as to the status of my car's build, unless my dealer updates me of course.

Bah .. I went into the dealer today to look at some X's and they told me that they had a handful of 320 stock tho lol. Not selling like hotcakes? TBH i've only seen 2 around in Melb

I still haven't spotted 1 single F30 on Melbourne's roads. Not sure which year I will see my car for the first time. Maybe the real 2013 at this pace.

I'd say I see one on a weekly/fortnightly basis

yea there's quite a lot of F30s in brisbane. mainly seen the diesel and petrol 320s around town

Yeah there's a few getting around Brisbane southside, mostly 320i/d. I've seen 3 on one particular road I drive along. Also saw a 328i yesterday, first one I've seen on the road. Seemed pretty quick too. Totally owned the Barina next to it at the traffic lights

VIN should be available for the first batch of MSport...
Given my car is a week 32 production, I'm surprised VIN isn't forthcoming...

I'm guessing when one of us gets our VIN, the others will too. But at the moment, I'm not hopeful it'll be coming til end of Aug.

Original discussions were July for Sept delivery, then Aug for late Sept/early Oct delivery... now I think it'll probably be end of Aug for end of Oct if lucky.......

well... just to share what I know...
My sales gave me a document that says confirmed production week - 32.
Since then I've had a new sales as the previous one left. Called up the guy today and he told me according to his spreadsheet, the car is:
- Status 111 (have not entered production)
- Production in the 9th month of 2012
- No VIN

This spreadsheet was last updated on the 8th August... This is concerning given that it is different to the information I received about 6 weeks ago... I'd expect my car to have completed production by now...

At this point I guess, I'm just waiting for a call... it'll be here when it's here. I know the dealer/SA doesn't have control over when it's going to enter production. IF one of us had received our VINs or had confirmation car was in production and the others hadn't it'd be a different story but as it stands, it looks like all our M-Sports cars are delayed/yet to go into production

I emailed 2 of my contacts at my dealer today as to the status of my M-Sport. Surprise, surprise, neither answered me.

The last dealer/factory intra/extra/whatevernet I received showed conf week as 36, which is 2.5 weeks away from today, if I'm not mistaken.

Yep, it seems that Rosslyn factory is not on line for Aussie M-Sport just yet. I'm going to the main board to start a thread. Maybe the well informed E90Fleet can help.

People in the US call bmwna for info. I too did the same with VW a few years back - there was a special no. for this though. I wonder if we can call BMW aus for info.

This delay and lack of transparency is unacceptable for an order placed 6 months back for a mass production vehicle! This is a 3 series I'm buying not a small production niche X6!

Latest from my dealer is scheduled October delivery. Still no chassis/VIN yet, but as soon as they are updated, they will let me know.

Just have to be patient. As the old saying goes. 'Good things come to those who wait'.

Exactly what my dealer told me... still aiming for October delivery
However, I reckon they are saying it because that's what is on the contract... There is little chance for a car built in Sept to be delivered to me by Oct...

Any how... the waiting game continues...

Well, my father in law has a 2 1/2 year wait for his McLaren. So a few months wait for an F30 is not so bad. He placed his order almost 12 months ago (I think), might have to ask him when I see him again which in itself is a rarity.
