Setting aside my thoughts on this car, I'm really not sure when wanting to go fast turned into something dirty. I think this car is fine in stock form, but the lack of factory boost makes bolt on mods almost pointless. This is my gripe with this car. You target it at a young crowd, but most of the late teens, early twenties crowd can't afford a turbo kit at probably $4-5k for their car. I truly think this car with a higher reving NA motor, or a boosted motor with a strong midrange would be 10x better than the motor that's in it.

The beauty of the car is that you can actually use a large amount of its performance on the road without traveling at send-me-straight-to-prison speeds.

Its hopelessly slow hahaha but it handles like a dream considering its on lousy Primacy HP 215 all round. With the right tyres, this thing will demolish my 335i in the twisties might even make my M3 shit bricks

edit: yes, it can definitely use a turbo or supercharger, i think 280hp would be perfect with wider tires and bigger wheel

I'm 90% sure I'm going to buy the second generation of this as a daily driver. I tend to avoid first generation models, as those are usually beta tests.

Don't get this comment at all... A low-powered, light car doesn't need an AWD system to leech WHP. Lambos, GT-Rs, and 911 Turbos are prime examples for AWD systems.

The FR-S / BRZ is definitely nice and should be fun to chuck around while carrying speed in a corner. It's not a highway machine like the 335i (even though it can do pretty well in the mid to high-speed canyons). I saw an orange FR-S in person the other day and it's pretty well-sculpted. Don't give a fuck about interiors.

Hmm. Their market is to target those who want a RWD sporty car with good MPG. Anything more than ~200hp will decrease MPG and might change the market they're trying to target.

One of my neighbors was having a party last night and one of these parked. I saw the guy(from my window) show it off to his friends and rev the engine. It was a bit on the quiet side, but it looks great!

I just drove one of these today. HOLY F####!!!
The balance of this chassis is brilliant. The tires don't do it justice but it is just so predictable at the limit, I was taking corners at what would be 50% speed in my 335i, only while sliding through the intersection, steering it with the throttle. The tires let go very easily, making it a hoot to drive. With all driver aids off, it was actually challenging to take a corner quickly without initiating a massive slide. It might not be fast, but credit where credit is due, Toyota still know how to set up a fun RWD sports car.

I might have to pick one of these up used in a year or so, since I don't think they're worth 30K lol.

Kinda like the E30 M3 back in the day...

If the Scion/Subaru was even given a small turbo, and the car made 230-250 HP, this would instantly be on my shopping list for next car. That would probably drive it out of the price range that Scion is marketing to, however.

It kinda reminds me of my dad's 79 Celica

I love turbo cars, but adding even a small one adds an additional layer of complexity and potential problems, especially for a car like this that has great promise as a track car.
