I had both and I wouldn't say double

my PP has less false alarms, and I love the mute button.

Overall I prefer my PP to my V1 (so I sold the V1 lol)

It's definitely 3/4 or more then the 9500ix. I live in the farmlands so falses aren't the biggest problem. My dad claimed the 9500ix back from me because he prefers it because it doesn't false. If I lived in a city I'd have a different radar detector, but for my uses v1 is best.
