I wonder what sort of really interesting stuff, like a souped up N55 will come in it.

maybe it's just me, but it kind of reminds me of an Audi S5
![]() It does looks sharp, though the "4" series branding doesn't sit well with me.

As an E92 M3 owner, I could care less what they call it, and I'd still consider buying one. I don't care if they call it the M26.11.801 CSI. It will still be a nice looking high performing automobile.

Hopefully this "4er" is BS... I'll be so happy if BMW announces it as a "3er" I just can't understand why BMW would leave the iconic M3 name to a four door sports sedan.... IMO C'monn

Agreed. I keep thinking it looks like a teenager smiling through headgear.

I don't know about the base price, but prices on the new 3 series sedans are much higher than before, not so much because of an increase in base price but due to the many new options and packages that are available. It is possible to partially circumvent this by ordering, but cars dealers are keeping in stock tend to be loaded. A typical 328i went from $40k to $47 and there will be a $1600 price increase for 2013. Perhaps BMW is learning from their experience with Mini and encouraging a higher proportion of customers to order their cars, not just with the individual stuff on the higher end models, but across the line.

Just as i was confident about the F30 more than a year ago, no matter how it will look!
i am once again, even more confident this time, that the F32 will an extremly sexy car, and of great quality, putting as one of the top dogs in its segment... too bad for me that i could not wait for its release and had to go for the F30. My next car will be a "3 series" coupe M-engine! yeah... in 6 years at least... sigh...

![]() Sorry, but again, the creation of the 4-series is for money and marketing purposes only. That is all. That is it. Period. And please, lets not continue to use the increase of size over the previous generation as the definition of "evolution". Many would argue that was the de-evolution of the 3-series from e46 to e92 (and I own and love the e92, but understand its shortcomings). Cheers, e46e92

I bet the people complaining about the 4 series name are the same people who were complaining about the N20 before BMW released it. In fact, it ends up being a great engine and BMW is going to sell exactly one buttload of them.
4 series is a good marketing move. It positions the coupe slightly above the sedan in terms of prestige, which, I imagine, is what BMW has carefully determined is important for 3 series coupe buyers. Plus, who cares what it's called - in all probability it will be a fantastic car. I do think that render looks more like an A5 than a 6er. But that's like saying the girl looks more like Brooklyn Decker than Giselle Bundchen. Hard to go wrong.
