My timeline -
Ordered 3/17 -- (328i 2012, imperial blue) Prod. Starts - 3/22 Prod. Ends - 4/05 En route to the US - 4/07 Arrived to the US - 4/25 Finishing touches - 4/27 still in finishing touches.. No info from the dealer. I have called him twice, and he says that there's a headrest adjustment that the VDC needs to do thats it. How can a headrest adjustment take 2 weeks! I am more upset at the lack of information than the actual delay (or maybe both !). Tried to call the VDC, but they dont take customer calls - redirected me to the dealership ! ![]() Can anybody help me get more info (aside from the dealer option!) Cheers |

Did you know that it was a 2013 when ordering or did they upgrade you automatically? I'm looking to order soon but want to wait for the 2013.

And, since they didn't, I would ask them to deduct any base price increase for 2013. There are dealers with 2012 allocations. 2012 orders are being taken until at least the end of this month, and likely for June as well. Official 2013 orders start in July, but there are early orders that can be placed for earliest delivery. I take it that your order was confirmed by BMW? If not make sure your dealer places your order. From what my dealer SA told me, early 2013 orders can be made in June. I'll have to ask if they can be place now, as I'll be at the dealer this week. I want to drive the 335i sport line again along with the 328i, as I'm ready to place an order, maybe for a 2012 as my SA said he can still do that and they have allocation for it. Of course, that was nearly a couple of weeks ago. Good luck. The wait can suck, but it'll be that much sweeter when your new BMW finally meets you. ![]() |

This could affect the 335i as well if BMW decided to test the MPG claims on that model as well. |

The longest wait is after it leaves the factory, then getting on a boat and the boat getting to the US, then clearing the port. You car left the factory, but as I'm sure you know, it may wait a while at the dock to get on a ship. Before it sets sail it has to wait to fill up with other cars. Your estimates look good. Early to mid June puts the car on target for the typical 6-8 weeks. CONGRATS! |

My lease broker told me that they are putting my order into the order bank. It will be picked up as a 2013 model with production starting in July. The vehicle is expected to arrive by mid-August. The discount they're giving me is still the same as well as the selling price. All that's changed is the model year. If any packages and/or options change, they'll update me with that. Other than that everything stays the same.

So now that the dealer system shows the car is shipped from the factory how realistic are my estimates in this post? Any guidelines from those who have received their vehicles? Thank you. |

Should be about 2 weeks on water, then a week or so before your dealer gets it. might be a little different for Canada

My 335I is on a boat named the Asian Vision from Germany, headed to me on the west coast in port Hueneme, CA. Does anyone else have their cars on this boat and are you taking the trip? what I have been able to find out thus far is that "Asian vision" should arrive at the CA port on june 5th.

![]() "Your vehicle is completed and awaiting transportation to port of exit!" So - Ordered March 21, began production April 26, completed May 19. The dealer said three to nine days to get on a ship and a ten to fifteen day shipping transit, two to three days to deliver to the dealer, and one to four days at the dealers - soonest I get it is June 4, more realistic is the week of June 18 - in about a month! I've read on some threads that most 335i's are being made in S. Africa. I wonder if that's due to the E90 coupes still being made until July. I don't mind if my BMW is made in S. Africa, I just prefer it be made in German because it's a German car after all. ![]() That's not big deal though as the S. Africa plant is as modern and BMW exact as a German plant. |
