Nice photos PrinceBarin.
The extended display sometimes looks very good, but other times it sucks, because you can see all the functions it has in bright light (lane departure...) even if your car doesn't come equipped with those gadgets. This dash was taken from the 1 series with very little modification added to it. The display on the 5/6/7 series is much better imo. |

![]() It's the equivalent of having a row of blanking plates on your dash for all the switchgear you don't have on your car - a permanent reminder of the cool gadgets you don't have. Incidentally, it's nice that the F30 dashboard doesn't have lots of blank switch panels. I was a little disappointed that I didn't get the extended display but now that my car is here I am completely happy with the standard display.

Well I went ahead and bit the bullet! The thing is I have someone very much interested on buying my current car (MB) and I can't afford to wait 6 months to switch to the dark side!
I figured as of right now (after find out the same features are still there just arranged differently) I don't care about the HUD as much as I did originally. Thank you so much for clarifying this and providing photographic evidence ![]() |

Just wanted to throw it in there that the Canadian 320i has been shipped with the standard cluster, even though the sales literature provided says that the extended display is standard across all models.

I like the US sport gauge cluster. Since I'm getting a sport line, I guess that's the one I get. Me likey. ![]() BTW, to the person who thinks that looks like a 1 series, well, I have a 135i and my gauge cluster doesn't look like the sport line one. |

I must say, I am very disappointed to find out about the different size screens, but even more so, about the different instrument panels. My CA didn't even know (or at least didn't tell me) about these items only being included if you have the tech pkg. I am already over budget on the car, and do not want to pay an additional $2.5K to get these options when I don't care about the nav or HUD. I drove 3 different cars at the dealer, and they had all these options. Also, they all played my iPod through the iDrive, which I have now found out is not possible without an adapter. What is wrong with these CA's and not providing the knowledge necessary for the customer to make an informed decision? Now, I need to decide if I can live without those things, or remove some of the options I chose in order to stay within my budget.
P.S. Hello everyone, this is my first post. I have learned an extraordinary amount about this model from the community! Big thanks!
