Quality issues with the new F30 is a worry. Misaligned doors and the thread regarding the steering vibration is making me nervous about my upcoming arrival. So new F30 owners who have perfect cars please speak up to reassure me that I have made the right choice!!

At the risk of tempting fate (and irritating those who have been less fortunate!), I have not suffered any problems with my car. No squeaks, rattles, whistles, or steering vibrations.

It's early days for me though, I've had it less than a week!

Mine has been pretty much problem-free.

I do have the steering vibration, but it's barely noticeable.

As for wind noise - I guess I'm not really sure what's normal. It's certainly way quieter than my last car (2008 MINI Cooper). Theres some wind noise at high speeds, but again way less than my previous car.

A lot of the wind noise seems to be coming from around the closed sunroof. If I close the shield, I can't really hear it anymore.

I wouldn't say I hear any whistles or anything like that.

No rattles at all now. Had a minor one under the passenger side of the dash, but it was an easy fix.

I was expecting really bad wind noise (no jokes please) after reading reviews of the F30. However, I can hear nothing that I would describe as 'wind noise'.

That said, there is definitely some 'exterior noise' (i.e. traffic / road noise etc) coming from the window area. For example, the 'splash' as I drive through puddles seemed to be echoing through the glass next to my ear! I can't tell if it's from the frame or just through the glass. Kinda weird and kinda hard to explain!

You are buying a 1st year redesign German cars, thats like rolling the dice, hope you get lucky.
Its always been a rule of mine to never buy a 1st year design model, especially a German one.

Took my car in two days after driving off the dealer lot. I just got my F30 back from the dealer service dept. this morning. I had the same problem with an annoying whistling noise... pretty loud (but I could not isolate the source). They ordered a seal kit for the front windshield and finished redoing the seal. No more noise. Take it in... it is definitely something they should fix and (at least I know now) is definitely not a one-off issue.

These issues may be associated with certain production runs? Mine has a production date of mid-late March 2012 (Germany).

Say what you will about Lexus, but the one thing I love about driving them is how incredibly quiet they are inside

wind noise 316d SE UK

I have had my car since the end of May and have notice a loud whistling noise when i drive over 40 MPH, i have taken the car to my local dealer who have diagnosed the fault as a faulty windscreen mould and they are replacing this. The part required is on back order and will be here in 2 weeks....

So far so good.

Seems very quiet and steering rock steady.

Mind you my last vehicle was like a tractor.

question about wind noise

hello ppl~
I just bought 328 yesterday and i have question about my car.
first of all, i m not a big fan of BMW, honestly i even dont know what f30 or f32i is. cuz i drove benz and infiniti , its my first time buying bmw.

my question is, above 40mph, I hear annoying wind noise from my car.
Is it normal for new 328???
I tried my friends car ( 535,135 ) and I didnt hear nothing.
