tires on the 18s and 19s

Back from a test drive with 328 sport, 335 sport, 335 sport 19s. The 328 and 335 with 18s has great balance but little tire grip. On tirerack the 18s come with pirelli eco low rolling resistance tires that belong on a prius, the old all seasons perform better. Steering was light on the limit on these tires, no grip at limit. The 19 inch equiped 335 was much more like it. The chassis was being used with these summer tires, steering feel increased and grip was phenominal. Honestly if i get this car i would either replace the eco tires with summers or order the19s. And many complain about steering feel, its not the best but its comparable to the porsche 991s steering. Both have 75% feel compared to previous systems.

There are a number of 18" tires depending on the wheels and line you choose and teh make at the factory on the day its built. Some of them are high performance summer tires such as the Bridgestone S001.

Can you comment on the ride quality between the 335i sport with 18" wheels / tires and the 335 sport 19s?

Thanks
Bruce

I test drove the 18s and I own the 19s. I personally think they ride very similar but pushing it around corners, I feel like the 19s are more stable because of the staggered larger rears.
